Thomas the impostor | Jean Cocteau, Dorothy Williams

Pickpick

First World War, a young man, Thomas, charms his way to the front lines. In a little over 100 pages, we follow this child wanting to play war.
Jean Cocteau keeps using vocabulary related to the theatre, setting the stage for this war drama perfectly. The accompanying caricatural characters reinforce this idea of playing a role, of pretending... Until reality comes knocking.

1️⃣️ Tagged, plus Gothic and Romantic era classics.
2️⃣️ Japan, when Neo-Romantics & Goths were the same thing. I'm old.
3️⃣️ I've had many, but long & as dark as my mom would let me was my favourite.
4️⃣️ A really cool tartan blazer, similar to ⬆️, part of my signature sad clown goth outfit; it was a thing. I'm old.
5️⃣️ BOOKS!!!!! Plus notebooks and fountain pens. No different from today, but with electronics added.
