Saturday I took my big kid to Subway (her favorite) for lunch. As we were heading out the door she asked, “Can we each bring a book and have a reading date while we eat?” 😍😍

I read BE THE GIRL by K.A. Tucker, which is a thoughtful YA novel with themes of bullying, autism, and belonging. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She read TALES FROM THE HOOD, the sixth entry in the Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley.

I had to share a close-up of the girls‘ new library. Lucy‘s shelving system has a bit of attitude. And note the checkout card. I came in to take the photo and found Lucy hard at work. “I finished tidying my bedroom and I just had to come in here to check in and shelve the returned books. It was really bugging me.”
