I was not sure what to expect, but I was wildly surprised at how much I liked this book. This was a collection of essays, almost like a memoir. Vonnegut wrote this in 2004-2005, and his criticism on politics, art, technology, sex, and America are very relevant today. His thoughts on the Bush administration made me wish that we could go back to those times before our current administration. What would Vonnegut think of Trump?

I have never read the book, but I know it‘s banned. I checked out this graphic novel version to see what it was all about—the story is a bit confusing to me, but there are themes of time travel, sci-fi, and trauma stemming from Camp Dresden in WW2. Interesting read, but the alien thing threw me off.
Hit up my local used book shop today, and the incredible owner remembered me as the Vonnegut collector, and had a book for me! I‘ve only been in a couple of times, so it meant the world to me. 🩷 #CitySquareBooks #bookhaul #shoplocal
Returning to Vonnegut is like putting on a favorite pair of old slippers - familiar, comfortable, almost as if it were tailor-made specifically for me. How it is that I didn't burn through all of his novels long ago is a mystery, but I'm glad I paced myself and can still enjoy the pleasure of reading one of his books for the first time at my rapidly advancing age.
Huge shoutout to my local used book shop for this beautiful 1982 Vonnegut!
