Forgive me for the blurry pic of Montie Sunshine, but the pet sitter sent me that. The tree is really where he sleeps. We might set it up somewhere else next year.
The book is about as sweet as this dog. Some difficulty with grief and animal cruelty, but in true Leslie Connor fashion, the book will leave you better.
Here‘s my excellent #AuldLangSpine list, compliments of @Christine.
She said she was nervous about submitting so much nonfiction but that‘s part of what drew me in! It‘s been roughly a decade since I made my fated New Year‘s resolution to “read more nonfic.” Now, I reach for it naturally, no resolution required. There are a handful of fiction titles, too, which seem right up my alley.
Follow-up collage post to come (with my intended reads)!
Yeah, I realize and readily admit a couple of things re: this post.
No, (1) the purple trees likely have nothing to do with this book but I have been saving it for a Litsy post (yay!), and
(2) this title is not on the ToB long list. Oh well!
A friend that I highly respect offered this title to me and now, 25% in, I am loving it. Witty banter, woman with a big heart, on a mission to fulfill a promise made to her nonagenarian BFF? YAAAS - all in.
Jane Austen acolytes & Bridgerton besties, I must insist you add this darling graphic novel to your dance card. Set in a diverse, inclusive alt-Regency-era, a marriage of convenience between a reputation-ruined lady and a financially-ruined gentleman settles into surprising contentment, but will it survive the chance for more? Sexy and satisfying, moving and romantic, this pitch-perfect read is a quick one, but you‘ll savor it like a spiced tea.
A low pick. Inspired by Le Fanu's Carmilla, this graphic novel set in 1990's NYC features mysterious deaths, vampires and Chinese folklore. It was a good quick read for Hallowe'en night.

I‘m really enjoying this collection so far. It‘s cool to see little concentrated moments like this which depict navigating the politics of relationships. These strips make me reflect on what we have that is like this today. I think of people like Julia Kaye in Super Late Bloomer and on her Instagram where she‘s exploring the day to day of transitioning and navigating relationships and breakups. ⬇️
Starting a new selection from the NPR list and I loved this panel from the intro! The only thing of Bechdel‘s I‘ve read is Fun Home, so this should be interesting.
