I absolutely fell in love with Rye, such an unassuming badass. Westerns catch a lot of undeserved criticism for being gun worshipping propaganda. This story follows the reluctant gunman, Ryan Tyler, as he navigates growing up as an orphan in the dangerous Old West. He fights to hold onto the morals instilled in him by his late parents, even when faced with the ultimate betrayal.
Book 1 of #JuneontheRange2024.
This is in my top five of Sackett novels. I love this story of Tell Sackett fighting with everything he has and kinfolk come riding in to save his bacon at the last minute.
Yes, I am aware that L'Amour is formulaic but I enjoy these westerns like I enjoy John Wayne movies. Just something about them is comforting.

I always enjoy a bit of time spent in the worlds L'Amour creates. Should have this done today at lunch.

Book #21 of 2023: “Sitka” by Louis L‘Amour
I‘ve always loved L‘Amour‘s writing and “Sitka” was no exception. Picked this one up in Ketchikan and really enjoyed reading it as we passed through the icy strait ❤️
I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!) Feel free to join in!
