pickIt starts with a troll playing Godzilla on a bridge and it ends with the reveal that Baba Yaga is a multi level marketing guru… and the small business of averting a war between humans and the fae happens in the middle. So you know, the usual EXCEPT no one got kidnapped…
Mercy & Adam were a bit cute in this one. Possibly the end of the walking stick? An enjoyable outing!

Really enjoyed seeing Mercy pull a revenge prank that she‘s famous for… even if Adam really shouldn‘t have let it get to the point where it became necessary (like, letting Christy answer his phone more than once… really dude?)

pickUrban fantasy meets supernatural romance in this series that started in 2010. It feels a bit like Twilight for grown ups, repressive gender norms & all. (Actually worse with the gender norms. According to the mc "women's liberation" still hasn't gotten to the werewolves. Yoiks.) Despite that I find myself hooked? It's a compelling story, and I want to see where it goes. Basically a coyote shifter among werewolves and lots of supernatural intrigue.
pickBook 7 sure had a bit of everything! Mass kidnapping, fae artefacts, shifting alliances, assassins for hire… and my personal favourite, Mercy learning more about being a Walker. The Princess Bride reference was also quite good. This brings me to the halfway point of this series and I‘m still having a fantastic time!
pickI enjoyed this installment much better than the last one. I like when Coyote gets involved and wreaks havoc but somehow it was the right havoc. I enjoyed Baba Yaga having an appearance and overall it did feel like a more complete story or episode.

Book 2 in the Mercy Thompson series. It started off a bit slow with some repetitive info from book 1 (I understand this is necessary, but in this case it slowed down the beginning). However once our Mercy got roped into the vampire‘s problem it picked up. We find out more about the vampire seethe and how it works. We also got a bit more about Mercy‘s walker powers & some werewolf politics of course.
It‘s windy. life‘s chaotic, but i‘m relaxing into #hyggehour with an ebook, my blanket and Saoirse. I hope you are all getting some time to rest and relax before facing the next week.
pickI felt a little overwhelmed and thought some parts were convoluted, but it is a shapeshifter/fae/vampire and gazillion other creatures world so who am I to judge? I always enjoy my visits into this world in general so while this is not a favorite book in the series I‘m still happy I read it.
pickAdam and Mercy get married and leave for their honeymoon AND manage to have a few carefree days before otterkin and an ancient river monster ruin their fun. Mercy learns some unexpected things about her father and Native American heritage.
I really enjoyed this one. No one getting kidnapped was a nice change of pace…
pickReading this series in full is one of my 2025 goals. I read this book 15+ years ago & loved it. It was borrowed from a friend at the time so I have not revisited the series since. I‘ve been itching to revisit it & have managed to collect most of the books from secondhand stores.
Since it‘s been so long, I remembered none of the plot so it was almost like reading it for the first time. So good! I love Mercy & am excited to see what she does next.
