Another win so far. I'm only on pg 298 and I just want to re-read the whole series lol

Another great installment of a favorite series. Hard to talk about as this is book 14 of the series and a lot has happened. This was a great Winter read! 4.5⭐️
I‘m losing track of how many times Mercy has been kidnapped! This time there is a fairy queen after her for an artefact she thinks is in Mercy‘s possession but there‘s also danger for Samuel - whose suicide attempt leaves his wolf in control - danger for Adam - with challenges to his pack leadership and attempts at undermining his relationship with Mercy… all in all another great audiobook!
Tense times for Mercy - but as always she manages to get herself in and out of trouble.
I was really enjoying this one - Mercy trying her best to investigate the murder that landed her friend, Zee in jail, right up until Mercy is magically coerced and the aftermath of that scene. This is as far as I got when I first read these back in the late 00s… I do wonder if that was why but none of this story felt familiar to me so I‘ll never know for sure.
Second book in and Mercy has had to rescue her love interests from being kidnapped AGAIN? (To be fair not all of them were kidnapped in the last book - but as the saying goes - if I had a nickel for every time an alpha werewolf got kidnapped and then rescued by Mercy Thompson… I‘d have two (three?) nickels).
Having a great time with this series reread so far.
The age ranges (and therefore the relationship age gaps) in this series are WILD…
The latest Mercy Thompson installment felt short while reading it and afterwards almost feels like a reset? Or maybe a deep breath before the big battle book. Anyways, I‘ve now read it twice (once with my beloved Lorelei King narration of course) and enjoyed it. A solid entry - and maybe feels like Briggs is dipping her toe into fantasy mystery??
I read the first couple of Mercy Thompson books all the way back in 2009 - and randomly seeing a review for the newest book the other day made me wonder about it - and Libby came through with the audiobook! So it was meant to be! I remembered almost nothing and had an absolute blast reacquainting myself with it all! With any luck - I‘ll stick with it this time round.
