Although I really loved and related to this story, that wouldn't be the reality for most students. This would be a tough story for those students without moms or strained mother/child relationships. I think that this would be a good story to share in the home but not in the classroom.

This picturebook tells the story of a child describing their mom. I think that this is a really sweet story and it made me think of how amazing my mom and grandma are. However, I don't think this would be a classroom pick. Too many children are living in diverse family situations and I don't think that this should be a classroom pick because it's a tough situation for some kids. In the home I think this book is great, but in class I would pass.

A great book about a moms love and how the child looks up to them! Amazing how it is so relatable at all levels of life.

Pickpick

My Mom by Anthony Browne (picture book published in 2005) was so cute and one of my favorites. It was so cute and i related so much! I wouldn‘t read it to the class because of different family make ups but a great book for children to pick on their own

I do not think I would put this in my classroom. In diversity we leaned about how having books about moms and dads could be hard for children who don‘t have parents or a bad relationship with them. I would maybe have it as an option but I would not read it out loud.

Pickpick

My Mom by Anthony Browne, 2005. Picture book. I really liked this book because this is how I feel about my mom! She is awesome. The illustrations seem simple. The author used light colors, they come across as sweet and dainty. The mom looks happy and nice throughout the book. The words are big enough and I like how some words were capitalized.
