so-soWhen I first read this, I gave it 5 stars. Age & wisdom have bumped it down to 3; it‘s not nearly as funny as I remember. Maybe it‘s because I‘ve seen the movie too many times, where the mom is redeemed just a little, I felt ZERO sympathy for the Mrs. X in the book. My heart breaks for that little boy (& the dog). I hope he gets a happy ending in the sequel
And this line hit like a punch in the gut. I have felt exactly that way in my own career.

Just finished the first in the series, now on to the next….hope it‘s as good as the first one
so-soEnjoyable easy escapist romance ❤️🔥 no 2 In the series and not as good as the first , mostly listened on audio which had dual narrators male and female which I enjoy rather than one actor putting on fake voices which can ruin a good book .
This book surprised me. It was so good! The true story of Charlotte Bill, who was the nanny of two future kings. David, who abdicated for dreadful Wallace Simpson, and Bertie, who was his successor. More importantly, she was the nanny of their little known baby brother Johnny. The one she cherished most.
