This book is poetry and I loved it so much. Each ending in this series completely tears my heart to pieces. I only hope the last book mends it. Never had I enjoyed side quests so much. Most beautiful and difficult love story. Reminds me of Romeo and Juliet, and I am scared the comparison even came to mind.

Powerless spoiler…………..😭😭😭I‘m sobbing. Adena is such a beautiful human. I will think about her every time the sun hits my face or I glance at the stars. Reading this after Powerless just hits different, like falling in love with someone you know you‘ll loose.

I am speechless. I feel like I stopped breathing for the last 8 chapters or so. What an end! Lauren is evil for finishing a book like that. Initially this book reminded me a lot of the first from Throne of Glass, but the tables quickly turned and my heart aches because of it. I was hoping to get a peaceful break from reading but I am antsy, I need my eyes on the next book to get resolution. I feel it will take the whole next book to find peace.

The story wasn‘t bad but I had no motivation to read. It was a struggle. I think after being disappointed by Specials, this world did not have my attention anymore. Glad it is over 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Spoiler here…. I am disappointed with what they did with Zane 😔. I really liked him. He was my favorite character and I loved his relationship with Tally. I‘m in denial. This one was harder to get through than the first two. The story progressed too slowly to then come to disappointing ends. However, I liked how Tally always cures herself, it shows that is always within you to become a better person. You don‘t need outside sources.

Ignoring some pretty annoying choice of words 😂, this is a great story. This book is about being human, and the literal beauty and downsides of it. It is about seeing beauty in imperfections. It is about friendship, relationships, morality, and natural but questionable human emotions such as jealousy or fear. I am amazed how the author captures so much while giving a plot that keeps you engaged. One of the best YA reads.

I picked this book after loving the movie and wanting to know what would happen next. Already knowing the story of the first book took some enjoyment away but it was nice learning the original details that were not shown or were slightly changed in the film. The writing can be childish but I recognize this is a YA book, target audience 10-16 yo. I'm looking forward to reading the next books and finally knowing how the story continues.

I enjoy Ali‘s books so much and this one did not disappoint. I love how she is exploring every field of academia while showcasing the realities that people with STEM doctorates face, through grad school, to companies, to becoming a tenure professor or opting for a postdoc. At the same time, I cannot help but smile through the lines. To me, Ali is a science-romance-comedy writer and I am all in for it. I‘m committed to read all of her books.

Not a book for everybody. I must say it kept my attention after 15% in. However, the story was strange with plenty of room for moral criticism and the end was underwhelming after so much buildup. I would not recommend if someone was not specifically interested in the genre or details. Though, I will be watching the movie, I am curious to see Manderley in color.

lauramisiara Just watched the 2020 movie and what a huge disservice to the book!!! Did the producers and directors even read the book? Because they cut the most important details that make the story what it is. I suddenly felt I liked the book more because what I enjoyed from it was fully removed. I will be watching the 1940 version now and pray it is better and actually represents the book. Not even the beauty of Manderley was showcased 🙄. Horrible film. 1mo
lauramisiara Just finished the 1940 film and wow!! What a great work by Mr. Hitchcock directing this movie and fantastic acting by Joan Fontaine as the 2nd Mrs. De Winter. This film portrays the exact feeling and true story of the book. It is crazy how this old film is still much better than all its remakes. A masterpiece! PS: Although joke is on me because Manderley had no color 😂, but that's okay ☺️, the rest made up for it. (edited) 4w

I still remember the first time I was around a grieving acquaintance and found myself with lack of words. Then as a healthcare worker, I was witness to the awful quality of life patients face in hospice or certain places for assisted living. This book was so needed in the field, not only for providers to approach the difficult situation but also to offer to patients the autonomy to make the best decision for themselves at the end of their lives.

Ouch 😔. Rebecca truly has so much power to shatter me with her writing and she does not miss the opportunity. Great story nonetheless and I can only hope my heart mends in the next book. This book made me feel love, anger, jealousy, sadness, grief, empowerment, bravery, and more. I have grown attached to each of the characters and I can't wait to see how the story continues to develop until reaching a much needed peace.

😭😭what took me so long to start reading this! I now suddenly want to lower the rating of some books I have read this year because this was so far superior. I could not stop reading from chapter 1. The story captivated me fully. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. I am no longer okay living in a world without dragons or a world where “he” is just a fictional character. I couldn‘t care less about the dangers. I ll fly or die any day.

I really enjoyed this book. This absolute page-turner had my mind spiraling. It was unpredictable at all points, creative, unique, and very well edited. This book quite literally makes you think while captivating its reader in the story. I will definitely be reading more books from this author. Easy 5⭐.

Great book for those with social anxiety. I felt so seen throughout most of this book. I loved how all the advice was backed up with science and how social anxiety was explained at its core. It allowed me to understand this is how I am and not some unknown subconscious trauma while providing me with the strategies to not let it impact my daily life. The book can be boring in parts but there is substance throughout.

Aaah, well, the beginning was interesting and eventually it became hard to get through. Things were happening but there was too much crazy, too unrealistic, it felt like a dream where you could change the rules of magic with a thought to fit your narrative. Bryce‘s personality felt different than other books. All in all, the end was somewhat better and I ended up giving it a 4 ⭐️, but definitely the worse from all SJM books I have read.

This book was better than the first through the plot but the build up and rollercoaster effect never really happened. That is why I give it a 4 ⭐. Personally, at times Bryce was acting like the main character from TOG and I didn't like that, did not fit into her persona and story. However, I am liking the plot twist at the very end, it makes me look forward to the third book.

Wow! What a story! I must say that it was difficult to get into this very complex world but I loved how everything came together and made sense at the end. I thought it would be predictable yet it wasn‘t. It really hit me emotionally no gonna lie, had me crying multiple times through it. I love how SJM throws random phrases in the beginning that come to make sense and mean so much at the end. This story had everything I could ask for in a book.

I loved how the ending connected to the beginning so perfectly, making perfect sense with the title. I like how it is a book that teaches you about life and relationships, and being imperfect humans. I saw my life reflected in the father relationship and it was comforting to see I am not alone on it. It was beautiful to witness the relationship with her mom and how they, although no present in space, are truly always there. 🫶

I enjoyed the book overall but kept waiting for a climax that never happened. I was hooked in the first set of chapters even though they were different from what I expected when I picked up the book. On the second set, the book started spiraling down. It was monotonous throughout. I thought eventually it would all make sense with some grandiose plot twist or events, but it never happened. Overall a good, different story, but would not recommend.

Possibly not as good as her first book but I was still pretty hooked throughout the story and read it pretty quickly. I love how these books can be funny and a great pass time. The book is highly predictive overall but still enjoyed the storyline.

Second read and I have been reminded why I love this book so much. For someone who has lived in a communist regime, I resonate a lot with this book. In only a few pages, it encompasses the reality of collectivism and the wrong that there is in forbidding individual intellect and success. The lack of the self is the lack of freedom, and there is beauty on differences, whether it is physical, of thought, or achievement.

What a journey! What a tiresome and exhausting war. How amazing it is to see it all righted at the end, despite the losses, the hardships. I love this series, for its plot, great characters, and above all, the courage it ignites on its readers to face all fears and fight for family and home. I did wish upon one aspect of its ending that did not occur, but did not eliminate the good of it, and it is still open to interpretation it occurring.

This story tells the story of Chaol and Nesryn when they are in the southern continent. If you are considering the tandem read, DO IT! TOD goes away from the main plot slightly and it would be hard to read on its own after the end of EOS. The book was still good but some chapters were hard to get through, and overall not as good as the rest of the series thus far. There are a lot of new characters introduced. I rate it a generous 4/5⭐️.

My heart is currently shattered by this ending. I am so glad I am doing the tandem read or I would not endure reading book 6 after this. I guess these things are what make a good book too, but it HURTS!!! The book was magnificent, a lot gets unfolded here. Poor Aelin is such a warrior. I would bow to her ruling any day. It had my heart feeling like it was about to skip a beat at one point but it still lacked that huge emotional impact that characterizes SJM. Como tal es una buena historia basada en hechos reales. Pero el libro es mayormente aburrido y pienso que necesitaba ser mucho más editado antes de publicarlo. No es buena opción para un lector que prefiere romance.

This is a great book to analyze those habits we have that are preventing us from reaching our next goals, then adjust them into allowing us to succeed in those goals instead. I loved the most how the author goes into the research and multiple life examples of people whose present habits or habit changes made a huge difference in their successes.

What a great book! It took me the first few chapters to get into it but soon enough it became a page-turner. Many of the things that happen, you see them coming, and it actually complements the book well. What a wholesome ending 🥰. I must say I did not love most of this book. I really disliked Nesta and although it is hard for me to justify her behavior at the start, I forgive her, she redeemed herself better than I believed possible. I like the Nesta at the end of this book. Besides that, the smut was a little too much for me, and too graphic😂. The book was slow until about 80%, but that last 20% is for sure worth the read. This book is what I expected, a transition between ACOWAR and what is to come in ACOSF, some peace after the war, the calm after the storm, or before? Only I will know after I finish ACOSF. It does not keep you as engaged as the others but I still think is worth to read as part of the series. Despite the story line, it also has some pretty interesting scenes 😉. Also, a great read around the holidays, since it takes place during Winter Solstice.
