I loved the childhood innocence of ten-year-olds Grace and Kelly, and their search for God. I would love to meet these two again, if the author should write more books with them

A few more for #allthebooksof2017: #newfavoritecharacters:
🛸 Lovelace & Pepper in A Closed and Common Orbit
👑 Eugenides in The Queen of Attolia / The King of Attolia
👴🏻 Ove in (naturally) A Man Called Ove
Lovelace & Pepper I‘d met before in The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet, but A Closed & Common Orbit made them favorites. Same with Eugenides—it was these two books that deepened him into a favorite character for me. And of course: Ove!
Catching up with yesterday‘s prompt

Some of my new favorites from my reading this year, in no particular order:
❤️ our unnamed narrator in The Gone-Away World
❤️ Crozier, Dr. Goodsir, Lt. Irving, & Silna in The Terror
❤️ John and especially Owen in A Prayer for Owen Meany
❤️ Roland, Eddie, Susannah, Jake, & Oy in the Dark Tower
Definately one of my #newfavoritecharacters of #allthebooksof2017. I started reading Ms Marvel in August and it wasn't too long before I was fully caught up. These comics are so fantastic, the characters are so good, and if you are intimidated by the larger Marvel universe, know that you can read Ms Marvel in isolation. She is so wonderful and positive, I absolutely adore her!
I love a character that makes me laugh. That's why Gus, Janet, and Ove are three of my #newfavoritecharacters

There are loads of favourite characters this year but here are some that stood out; Eddie flynn, Jackson lamb, lena and lila, and Rosa from the tartar recipes.

There are more, but I narrowed it down to four favourite characters:
The melancholy, witty and irreverent Lazi in Qiu Miaojin's Notes of a Crocodile; the fiercely feminist and razor sharp Helen Graham in Anne Brontë's Wildfell Hall; Grandmother in Tove Jansson's Summer Book, so wry and introspective and wise; Frits van Egters in Gerard Reve's The Evenings, a bleakly hilarious and absurd nihilist.
Can‘t wait to watch Reese Witherspoon‘s company, Hello Sunshine, to produce the quirky and heartwarming Eleanor Oliphant !

I‘m copying @Cinfhen ‘s fun idea to cast two characters I loved this year.... I loved Evelyn Hugo... she really stuck with me (I imagined her as the ever-gorgeous Helen Mirren) and my favorite chapters in ‘The Power‘ were the ones from Roxy‘s POV (I picked Abigail Lawrie, who was amazing in a Casual Vacancy)....
