Pickpick

A pleasant, quick read, this British romance is told from multiple perspectives, but unlike many other recent novels that have attempted this, One Day didn‘t fail miserably (high praise, I know; I‘m a tough customer). With plenty of allusions to British romantic comedies, this tale puts its reader on a bit of an emotional roller coaster, and like the high-speed ride, you know where you‘re going, but that doesn‘t make the trip any less enjoyable.

dgingo I read One Day in December in one day this December (12.29.18).

Holidays are for book binging, no?

The_Heeler_Booklife I loved this book. I finished it a few days ago and it was just 😍 6y
dgingo @allthingskayla I enjoyed it, but I also would have liked to see Laurie and Jack together for a bit at the end. I know it wasn‘t ever going to live up to our expectations of them together, especially after all that time, but I would have still liked to see them together for a few pages. I hope they don‘t do it, but I get the feeling there will be a sequel. 6y
The_Heeler_Booklife @dgingo I agree that I wish there were more about Lu and Jack in the end and I wanted to see Sarah‘s wedding. Plus, it would been kind of funny to see Oscar again with a second failed marriage because he was married to his job. I do hope for a sequel, I would be over the moon for one. (edited) 6y
dgingo @allthingskayla And I felt like there was much more unsaid about Oscar‘s mom. Maybe it got edited out, as it was 400 pages. Yes—more with Sarah and Luke too. But, I loved the recipes at the end! 6y

Mehso-so

This one was recommended by a friend and I had bought it with a lot of enthusiasm. I didn't like it as much as she did but it was still a light, refreshing read. The parts about The Office, and her childhood were interesting.
P.S I have never watched The Mindy Project.

BookishMe My daughter is a huge fan! Somehow I am not interested in her work etc unusual as I try to support diverse artistes in showbiz 7y

This is the longest book that I've read so far. I'm glad I read it when I could easily manage 100-150 pages a day. It was an entertaining read, an eye-opener at times. #chunkster #india #pleasurereads

RohitSawant Oo, I loved this one! I met GDR when he visited a bookstore in Mumbai and he signed my copy 😁 7y
BiblioLitten @rohit-sawant Ah! Lucky you 😀 This one made me see Mumbai in a new light. Nd then I thought he was kind of a badass because he had been in prison and all. 🙈 7y
RohitSawant @BiblioLitten Same! My dad worked at a Naval base in Colaba and knew the area like the back of his hand so I kept pestering him for details as I read, & I thought that was badass, too 😆 (I was seventeen at the time). 7y
BiblioLitten 😄 seriously, that was some good reading! I kept googling references too. 7y
