I felt like I was sitting back in this community of morally compromised people watching the train wrecks happen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A fun summer read, if you like rich people behaving badly! I got some White Lotus vibes for sure. Everyone was horrible, but you know that going in since it‘s in the title. 😂
I was hooked from the very beginning!

Ok, so, I realize there are similarities btw this and the last booked I just bailed on. HOWEVER, this book does not pretend to have decent people, it's right there in the title! Also, I still liked some of them and the plot was more intriguing from the get go & held some surprises along the wat. There are quite a few characters so on audio, at times, it was a little confusing (but maybe it's more due to juggling a toddler... Lol).

Ok, so definitely some white lotus vibes. Horrible people, you know someone is going to die. You don‘t know who you till 3/4s in. I hated every one but enjoyed the ride.

I found the first half of this book relatively compelling in an easy reading way, but in the end it just DRAGGED for me. There‘s SO MUCH set up, that dwells on the minutiae of the characters‘ lives and interactions, and then once the main event takes place it takes an absolute age to unpick it too. I love a rich people drama story usually but this one failed to capture me and I think pacing issues were the reason for this.

I was looking forward to some ridiculous rich people behaving badly drama, but lots of parts were just boring.

I hadn‘t heard of BAD SUMMER PEOPLE until it turned up in my library‘s Express section, but I love a book about rich people behaving badly so I jumped on it. I got through the first 50% while I did various hands-on-brain-off stuff earlier, and I feel good about all my choices. It‘s like east coast Jackie Collins on vacation.

One of the things I did while I listened was block this baby shawl. I‘m happy with that result, too. #audiocrafting
