In the magical town of Oak Haven, magic is not behaving. Scarlett lives in San Francisco and receives a call from her estranged sister and immediately knows something is seriously wrong. She returns home to help and and reunited with her old friends. Scarlett needs to help her family solve this magical mess but some spells come with great danger.
This book had some promising elements but I just didn‘t connect with the characters. 3🌟

Natasha Madison aims for the heart and never misses. Southern Secrets has the right amount of suspense and romance, a nice quick read.

Felt like a cosy witch story. Hope it‘s good!

I had placed a hold for this at the end of last year on a whim and it didn't disappoint which is a nice change compared to some other newer reads I've read of late.

I enjoyed the premise of a romance writer suffering writer's block while a romantic upcoming actor who's dealing with another breakup under the public eye. He helps her writer's block by reigniting romance for her and she in turn will ruin romance for him, one trope at a time.

#Romance

She's a fantasy writer, but nobody knows. He's a billionaire executive and doesn't want to be like his father, but actually is. They've known each other since childhood. She's working for his company, but doing a piss-poor job. He's trying to change her.

They both need to change and both need to address their problems.

Characters with disorders.
Toxic workplace. Harassment and assault.
Stayed for the #audiobook.

I got this book for free, in exchange for my honest opinion via NetGalley.
This was my first Becky Dean book, and I highly doubt it will be my last! This book was so, so good. There was so much entertainment packed into this story. I went from someone who‘d never step foot on a boat to wanting to take a cruise and explore the world.

Overall, a delightful steamy contemporary romance. It was a bit long though and I didn‘t love the third act break up. I did really like all the characters though! 4⭐️
