Moon Bear | Clare Helen Welsh, Carolina T. Godina

Pickpick

Such a sweet book! Nearly all picture and wordless, the illustrator, Carolina T. Godina, cannot be praised high enough. The eponymous moon bear is the just the cutest little one and the stardust/moonlight he's made of adds magic sprinkles.
Moon Bear is a quick, magical read. 4,5/5⭐

Thank you, NetGalley and Quarto Publishing plc, for the chance to read a copy in exchange for an honest review! All viewpoints are entirely my own.

Creature of Habit by Jennifer E. Smith captures the story of Creature and his life on his island. It displays all of Creature's favorite things to do and how he likes to do it in a certain way, until one day when a small creature comes to the island. Nominated for the 2024 #WCCPBA The creature of habit will be fun to explore with the kids. I may ask them to draw the 2 characters based on their description before reading. It will be fun to hear them share their habits. I wonder how many will admit they only eat chicken nuggets and macaroni? #endpapers

bthegood Love the activity idea for your students - and I think you might be right about nuggets and mac/cheese 😂 2y
mandarchy @bthegood I love having the students predraw before a read. It gets them focused after coming into the library. I never get to give pop quizzes and it feels like one. 2y

OK ladies only you lot will understand my excitement and nervousness about this.
On YouTube I have started a series called Reading Wednesday, I film myself readying a book mostly children's books and poetry but I feel so good about it and excited.
I've wanted to do it for a while now, wish me luck 📚📚📚📚📚

slategreyskies Best of luck to you!! I‘m excited for you!! ✨ 4y
squirrelbrain How exciting - good luck! 😁 4y
LibrarianRyan Yeah. Just be sure to check publishers rules about if you are allowed to film your self reading those books. During Covid some publishers lessened their rules, but for some it can be very strict and leave you open to $$$$$ damages. 4y

Really enjoyed this B, NY best-selling book about one of my favorite people in history. Follow along as we learn all about Mister Roger‘s and his significance in our childhood as well as his impact on children‘s television.

This is a great option for PR to learn about an important figure. This would increase mastery-oriented feedback. As they discuss with one another what they are learning about Mister Roger‘s and why they each found the information important (8.4)UDL.

For my EL‘s, I would highlight important sections of the text I want them to focus on and share with their partner and vice versa (27.)

Mmurphy An awesome resource is the “WHO HQ” website full of activity pages and games to help your students stay engaged while learning about him. https://www.whowasbookseries.com/books/who-was-mister-rogers/

DrSpalding I still have not seen this movie with Tom Hanks. Your resource is excellent and so is this series. I like the idea of partner reading or even using these books as independent reading as they research an important current day or historical figure. 5y
