The next row of my #readinglogsnake is Beasts of Prey. This was a #rplbooksandbrews read for June and If All Arkansas Read The Same Book for 2023. I love the author's take on African Mythos with this story. I may continue the series later. 3/5 ⭐️ #ARRCReads #BooksAndCrafts

Next row of my #readinglogsnake is for a #rplbooksandbrews read - Cultish by Amanda Montell. This book doesn't just examine notorious religious cults, it also examines the language used by MLMs and extreme exercise groups. I found this to be a very fascinating read and recommend this to anybody anyone who wants to examine the 'why' people join cultish groups. 4/5 ⭐️ #BooksAndCrafts #ARRCReads

Next row of my #readinglogsnake is another #rplbooksandbrews read, Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn. I really enjoyed the exploits of the Sphinxes as they search for the person who put a hit on them while avoiding assassination. Also made some interesting additions to my 'how to kill somone' list. 4/5 ⭐️ #ARRCReads #BooksAndCrafts

Next row in my #readinglogsnake is for another #rplbooksandbrews read, The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams. Yellow representing historical fiction. Before the English woman's suffrage, the MC captures words in an attempt to make a dictionary of women's words, and ends up with an interesting Edwardian urban dictionary. Interesting, yet sad read. 4/5 ⭐️ #ARRCReads #BooksAndCrafts

The next row of my #readinglogsnake is for a #rplbooksandbrews bookclub read Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquirel. I chose a The yarn that was chosen to represent this book (romatic tragedy) is called monet. Now, I took issue with many things in this book (hated the main male love interet, the horrible way the Tia's sister died, Tia's final choice in a partner), but I did find myself enjoying the entire story of the book. 4/5 ⭐️

Bookclubs and graphic novels. This month we covered the Japanese internment in USA during WWIII. It is very interesting that many were not aware of this happening until into thier adulthood. #rplbooksandbrews #arrcreads #rogersreads

After over a year of meeting through zoom, the Roger's Public Library Books and Brews book club finally met in person today. It is so good being able to talk about a book face to face. #rogersreads #rplbooksandbrews

RPL Book and Brews bookclub June 2020 read. First comes fraud, then comes suspected serial murder, then murder of the suspected murderer at a funeral of one of his alleged victims! All the while, a famous author is struggling to produce something that would compare to the success of her first book. Interesting read for sure for murderinos and fans of Harper Lee.

lynneamch Oh my. This is so captivating! I'm 30% in. You just can't make this stuff up. Or, if you did, no one would believe it. 5y

Roger's Public Library Books and Brews bookclub May read. I LOVE this book. It is the perfect trifecta for me in the historical fiction genre: a realistic depiction of a set time period, a strong lead character, and a meaningful story expands your insight into areas you may not have understood clearly before. Definitely a great book to pick up.
