Ooooooo, I've been waiting to get my hands on these for awhile now. I read the essay Point of Attachment and fell in love with David Quammen's prose. It's like listening to a favorite uncle telling all the magical tales of the world. I'll have to wait a few weeks to start though, I'm still working on for other books.

This was a slow, but enjoyable read for me. Almost poetic mix of the personal with the scientific. Loved getting some insight into the life of a female scientist, and the funding issues all scientists face. Hope she continues to find funding in the age of trump, and hope many trees are planted as a resulted of this book. Found the last chapters particularly moving. Here's my #Nov16stats. All in all quite successful. I knocked off a couple of the big reads I've had on my #tbr list for awhile and even read my first #graphicnovel ever! best read from this month, it is a toss up between Salman Rushdie's "Satanic Verses" and the extremely well done graphic novel "Trinity" which gives the science and history about the atomic bomb. #sciencebooks #novemberreads
