Cat at Night | Dahlov Ipcar

Pickpick

4 ⭐This is a re-print of a book from 1969. The artwork feels a product of its time, which means it‘s fresh, new, and exciting for modern audiences. This is a simple story of what do cats do at night. It plays up how cats can see better at night than human does. You‘ll have one illustration that shows everything dark and asks the reader to guess what the cat is doing or seeing and then the next illustration is what the

LibrarianRyan cat is doing or seeing all in bright colors. It really works for the time and the age that it‘s written for and in essence it‘s timeless and can be love generation to generation. 6mo

#ScarathlonPhotoChallenge

My sister sent me this picture yesterday with my great-nieces (is that ever a term that makes one feel REALLY old!) 😬 with a 1500 lb #Pumpkin. It‘s pretty ginormous as is the pumpkin on the cover of this children‘s book from the library (e-book) that I added to my #Scarathlon TBR for some quick points for Team #SpookyGhostClub 👻🎃👻

Shadow | Suzy Lee

This book would be good for an art class or a science class. In art, students could create their own drawings of objects and their reflections of shadows. In science, this could start an investigation into how light works, or why shadows appear.

Shadow | Suzy Lee
Pickpick

Shadow by Suzy Lee is a very interesting book about a girl who is playing with shadows in what looks like a garage or basement. The book is a horizontal book that opens from the bottom, this is important because the illustrator makes the top page the light in the room and the bottom page the shadows. The use of light and dark adds value to the simple illustrations.

Though the book does not have any words, this powerful illustration captures the essence of diving deeper into the little girl's imagination as she discovers the power of shadows.
