Feels good to knock off a book that's been on your shelf for a long time ... now I get to read like 45 of my newer ones right? Is that how this works? lol

Got a few chapters in while at the library tonight. It's getting colder here pretty quickly and I wonder if that's what's keeping people home more 🤔 🥶
This was the oldest book on my tbr and it didn‘t really deliver for me. Told through alternating perspectives of Paul and a police investigator, Amanda, but then also through Paul‘s past. A crime committed by his former friends when he was a teenager is being copied. Amanda wants to find the who, Paul is finding out the why. An interesting enough premise for me to want to know what happened, but the style made it hard for me to get through.
This has been on my TBR, but my husband got to listen to it and RAVED about it. Can‘t wait until I can get a copy and dive in! #scarathonphotochallenge #shadow #day6 #scarathon #TeamCreepinItReal
I read this back when it came out, so I think this one is up for a re-read real soon! #scarathlon #photochallenge #skeleton #blackcatcrew
I love all the oddities that come with lucid dreaming. It‘s a great story premise too. I loved that aspect of this book. The ending and the ultimate reveal was very underwhelming though.
I've tried 3 times to get into this book both physically and audiobook. The start of the book jumps characters and time lines way too many times. It's doesn't really grasp your attention.
Now I really do think I would enjoy the second half of this book. But by this point other things are capturing my attention.i hardly got 20% of the way in.
Just started this book on audio! I have the physical copy as well and may read along with the audiobook.
I'm always in the mood for a spooky read!
Thank you, @Chrissyreadit , for my awesome #CreepyChristmas box!! Two very intriguing books and chocolate to eat while I read! My kids (visiting for the holidays) were very impressed with the candles that bleed when you light them (as was I)! 😁 Everything looks great and provides quite a satisfying ending to the gift-giving season. Thanks to @teebe for organizing!
Merry Creepy Christmas and Happy Haunted New Year! 😁👻🎄

I probably shouldn‘t read this while camping out in the woods 😅
I found it interesting to read Paul‘s current day story juxtaposed his long-ago experiences (and dreams - lucid as they were) in his hometown. I was curious if Amanda‘s investigation would be the key to pull the story together. …Ohhhh, and then that happened! ↓
I did make it through this audio pretty quickly but I think it's because the beginning was better than the end. I felt a little let down by how it all fell out. I wanted more from Amanda too, the detective, she felt like a bit of an add on to the dtory. Definitely enjoyed The Whisper Man more.
Tackle the TBR 🤓📚 #boleybooks #AlexNorth #theshadows #bookbeast #bookjoy #bookbuds
What are you reading? 😊
It was so nice to finally fly through a book again. Met my goal of 24 books this year. #Dec.2.24
I‘m always down for some (semi) unreliable narrators. Paul goes back to his hometown to visit his dying mother, a town where he was a part of a horrific murder 25 years before. The murderer disappeared, and now there‘s a copycat. There are some twists I didn‘t see coming, and while the ending wasn‘t super climatic, I enjoyed the book overall. Also, the detective is named Amanda, and she‘s a badass, as all of us Amanda‘s are!
I am gonna DNF this book, I don't understand the premise and I don't feel engaged in the story. Maybe it's the narrator for the audiobook or the format but I am gonna move on no pts for #TeamSlaughter Sorry Y'all. #Scarathlon2021 @Clwojick #BookBingo
Busy busy listening to audiobooks this month. 🎧 #audiobooks #listening_litten

Woops.i forgot the readathon that I participated in this week. So thats 9.hours, finished two books and 10 pts each for each hour read(?).so that's 90 pts plus 1 which means: 597 pts for week 1 woot! If my math is correct.
Please ignore my legs in the background :p @Clwojick
Playing this week's #Scarathlon2021 game! I played by setting a 3 minute timer, it was fun to rush and see how many words I could find! @Clwojick
Another excellent read by Alex North. Enjoyed how he has a suspenseful plot but also goes deep into the relationships among the characters. Week 4 of summer left me surprised and sad.
Enjoyable but I definitely was more impressed with Whisper Man. This one was creepy but the story had me a little confused at parts.
If yall need a Spooky read
I really enjoyed this book overall. Lots of, albeit depressing, twists and turns had me hooked from beginning til end. I‘m not going to give it super high stars because it just made me sad instead of spooked, which was what I was hoping more of this book. 3.5 🌟
So glad I could finally get my hands on this book. I loved the mix of mystery, thriller and almost horror. The urban legend aspect was awesome and really added some creepy vibes to the whole story. Personally I would have loved some more atmospheric horror added in. I‘m definitely going to check out the first book by this author.
“And even though I wasn‘t a religious man, I found myself wondering if she might be dreaming anything now. ‘Sleep well,‘ I said.”

I can‘t believe it‘s taken me so long to finally read this one but it‘s been on my BOTM TBR for a little while. I really enjoyed it and I look forward to more from Alex North! 🌟🌟🌟🌟!
A intriguing thriller. The Americanisms threw me off a bit but I think it is supposed to be set in America not Uk, as we don‘t say sidewalk or Mom 🤔 3.75/5
Read for the #PopSugarReadingChallenge2021 and #Whateveryouwantathon
102 of 2021. #20in4 #readathon #littenlisten
Book2: 4:5 hours
This was a solid thriller , but I liked The Whisper Man more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wish I could say that I loved this book! Sadly, though, I can‘t. The pacing was real chill and it lacked the tension that would keep my interest firmly on the story. There were some creepy-ish moments but the potential for a true thrill fizzled out because there was no hook. With each reveal, I felt it lacked the edge that was necessary to engage me. There‘s only so much let down a reader can take before the disappointment sets in.
Enjoyed The Shadows by Alex North. A thriller with creepy vibes. I would give it 4 stars.
Read this one for family book club. It was good. I kept thinking there was going to be a huge twist, so I did not get most of who was really guilty until it was laid out in the book.
This was a really good book. Kept you hooked and I haven't read one quite like it. Every time I thought I could determine who or what it was, it took a turn. Very good!
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 I was struggling a bit for nearly 3/4 of the book. A little confused, waiting for it to all make sense then all of a sudden in Part 3 the other shoe falls and things start to make sense. I probably should have picked up the casually dropped “clues”, but my excuse will be that I don‘t often ready mystery/thriller. Also: read it when you have time to immerse yourself. Short, stuttered reading sessions won‘t do. #litsyatoz #booked2021
Looking forward to finishing the tagged book during our ice storm today. Could it be that I might even start another? Hoping.
As expected, I was not disappointed! Alex North has an extraordinary way of drawing you into his stories. It‘s always so easy to play a movie in your head as you read. This one, was one of the best. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Snuggles while I finish up my book with my Navi girl 💕 #dogsoflitsy #reading #snuggles #cutie #theshadows
Well, I was so enjoying this book until I just ended the last chapter with they killed this mans dog because the couldn‘t kill the man. 🥺 this kid is so messed up 😭
Idk what I was expecting but it sure wasn‘t this! I am thoroughly enjoying this book so far! I love me a good creepy story and this is it for sure 😍
This has been a long tough week. Looking forward to tomorrow afternoon when I can start a 4-day weekend of the 3Rs. Rest. Relaxation. Reading. Creeping along at a snails pace in the tagged book, but at least it‘s progress.
Had my husband pick which book I should read and I‘m not disappointed 😍#scary #thrillers #botm #February #reading #slowdayatwork
Hello #LMPBC Group W! My TBR is full of books that I think would fit the bill since horror/thriller is my favorite genre 😅 Here are a few! Let me know what you think or if you‘ve read any of these before.
