Doing some #AudioPacking today. Starting this book, hoping it will fulfill #somethingUplifting for #NonFiction2019
I‘m pretty sure @Cortg recently posted about this book 💜#Hoopla

LibrarianRyan Might have to try this audiobooks after mr Rogers 5y
Hooked_on_books I haven‘t read this book but have heard a short version of the Gander story. It‘s the type of story we should have been hearing back then, but I didn‘t hear it until years later. Love those Canadians. 5y
Cinfhen I was aware only because we had distant relatives who kept kosher and they needed special food. The community was amazing @Hooked_on_books I wanted to see the musical based on this story but the show is closing next month😣 5y

Cinfhen So far it‘s really interesting @LibrarianRyan although the narrator is a bit dry😐 5y
Reviewsbylola I got this from the library a few months ago but it wasn‘t the right time and went back unread. 5y
Bklover Where have I been? I never heard of this. Why haven‘t I heard of this? 5y
Cinfhen Get it on audio @Bklover @Reviewsbylola it‘s told as a human interest story focusing around certain passengers and flights. It‘s really gripping and I find I‘m constantly frozen in mid step as I don‘t want to miss anything and need to absorb all that I‘m hearing. It‘s a perfect audio choice. Although my packing is taking twice as long. 5y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa This sounds great! I‘m stacking this one too! 5y
JanuarieTimewalker13 I loved this one!! Newfies❤️ (edited) 5y
Cortg @Cinfhen Hope you like it it! I had never heard of it but was looking for an available audiobook and had listened to the music from the show. I wonder if the show was based off the book? I couldn‘t find anything but I also didn‘t search very hard for info. 5y
Cinfhen Found this on Wikipedia @Cortg Irene Sankoff and David Hein — the husband-and-wife writing team behind many of the stories from Gander had already been told in a book (The Day the World Came to Town), a Canadian TV movie (Diverted) and a BBC radio play (The Day the Planes Came) 5y
Cinfhen I‘ve been listening all day @Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Cortg I‘m LOVING IT ~ thanks so much for the recommendation it‘s been perfect 5y
Cinfhen So good @JanuarieTimewalker13 it‘s warming my heart ♥️ and yes, the Newfies are “fine folks” 5y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @Cinfhen it restored my hope for humanity. Enjoy💫 5y

Pickpick

I enjoyed this a lot more the second time. Although I could have done with a lot less “why I hate banging dudes,” overall, this collection of essays is funny, which is exactly what I needed. 4⭐️
