Mad Wolf's Daughter | Diane Magras

#catsofLitsy #LittenKitten #DannyBoy
After an exhausting Halloween (pushing kiddo-as-Hermione around in her wheelchair was a serious workout!), November started in its own kind of flurry. I started three books today - tagged for #Roll100, and Jane Austen‘s Letters and The Heiress for #PemberLittens - and had to go to the pharmacy for kiddo‘s oral antibiotics, because she finishes the IV stuff tonight and gets her line removed tomorrow!

batsy Much ❤️ to you and the kiddo. Yay for being able to progress to the oral antibiotics. 2y
Ruthiella Glad your daughter is on the mend. Kudos to you for trick or treating with her! 👍 2y

This one is a fun page-turner. It took me a little bit to get into the Scottish lads and lass and keep the characters straight, but the action started right away. I liked the characters and struggled through their emotions right along with them on their journey. Drest is so brave and grows a lot over her journey of six days. Tig is just plain nice and I really do like Emerick. Lots of good lessons. I‘m ready for the sequel. 👍🏼

The Prairie Thief | Melissa Wiley, Erwin Madrid

This book hit me just right this week. Wiley's style is straightforward, but she trusts her young readers to fill in the blanks so she doesn't feed them every hint and detail. The setting feels a little insubstantial (the details are vivid, but I don't feel myself rooted in the prairie while reading), but the main characters are delightful. And I learned that Wiley's a blogging homeschooler who used to live in San Diego, so that's kind of cool.

This was a decent book! I read it in one sitting and it entranced me. I loved the setting and the way the characters were written. The messages in the book are powerful and filled me with inspiration. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a Medieval setting! Not one of my favorites, but still good.

I finished listening to this last night and ended up loving the story. It was action packed the entire time, although the ending did feel a bit rushed. John Flanagan's Rangers Apprentice series is absurdly popular in my library, so I'll be recommending this to all those kids. #middlegrademarch #book3 @megnews @sblbooks

Started this audiobook while working this morning. I was a little skeptical of a male narrator when the main character is a girl, but his brogue during all the dialogue is way fun, so I‘ll overlook it. #middlegrademarch @megnews @sblbooks

megnews On audio, a narrator can really make or break a book. 5y

This book celebrates the strength of girls in all its forms: physical, mental, artistic, athletic, and more. It also celebrates friendship and talent. Parker‘s magnificent photos, short quotes, and intro paragraphs to each chapter pull together the themes. Great for girls of all ages. #photography
