I really enjoyed this book! Although I don‘t know how to review it! There isn‘t much of a plot. It is more a book about some characters that are loosely connected. Beautiful writing and wonderful descriptions of places and people. A friend recommended this author to me and I will definitely be reading more.

Great Setting: late 1950s/early1960s, Goode department store-Sydney

Four Goode saleswomen dressed in variations of black dresses, sell frocks. I read this bc it was free on kindle unlimited, but found the story of the women and their husbands or SOs to be bland and repetitive; but realize it was not my cup of tea; though perhaps others may love it. I believe à film might be better.

Hey #foodandlit friends...

If you have Kindle Unlimited in the US, this book is set in Australia and was a fairly quick read. Thought I'd share if you're still looking for a book for the challenge. It wasn't some spectacular, life-changing novel, but it was an enjoyable visit to mid-century #Australia .

I've had a couple of resting days. Today spent all day reading this book. I really enjoyed it. Thanks to @CarolynM I've been introduced to another talented Aussie author. Will read my way through this delightful series.

1. We take our decorations down after the Baptism of our Lord which is the end of our Christmas season - this year that is January 9. 2. I like to read by the fireplace, so snow for me, but rain is soothing, too.

Mystery set in Australia following WWII. Billie is a widow and a PI, having taken over her late father's business. Billie is strong and can take care of herself.

I really liked this one and will read the 2nd book in the series.

Starting my last book to complete the #bookriot #readharderchallenge for this year. Accompanied by day 3 of a tea advent calendar (and there may or may not be holiday music playing in the background 😉)🥰📚🫖

Larkken Well done! I am going to be five short for this challenge. Oh well! 1y
