Ironically many Christmases ago, my mom asked me if I wanted a kindle (it was new technology back then 😂) but I told her no. I thought I would hate using something electronic to read books. I loved real books. (She got it for me anyway) Fast forward to today and about 6 kindle upgrades later, I can‘t imagine going anywhere without one. #teamkindle

TommieMarie74 It‘s funny how that works. I guess sometimes moms really do know us best. 6y
Chelleo My husband bought me this one for Christmas years ago and changed his mind on giving it to me. He made the mistake of telling me and I yelled at him to give me my kindle! 😂🤣😂 6y
pinkpygmypuffs @Chelleo my husband would be the complete opposite. He always tells me why should I read stories when they can be told to me 😂😂😂😂 he‘s a movie fan 6y

What's better, Littens: Kindles or Nooks? I currently use my iPad for ebooks, but I'm looking for something a little smaller and designed for reading, so now I'm trying to decide. And I can't, so. #help

Matilda I use the paper white version of both and each comes with its good and bad. K- is supported by overdrive library ebooks, and egalleys. Nook- has a lovely built in glowlight and feels better in my hands. 7y
erinreads @Matilda So Nooks can't do OverDrive? Boooo. 7y
Matilda Ask your library but I was unable to. Doesn't matter now for me bc they changed from overdrive to axis360 which doesn't support kindle paper white. (This doesn't apply to the other kindle/nook versions which can support apps) 7y

emtobiasz Nooks can do Overdrive, it's just more complicated. It also can depend a lot on the generation you get exactly what the steps are. I like my kindle, and it's easy to use, but I hate how locked in I am to amazon's whims for formats and apps. 7y
Ruri_kaichou I am a Kindle fan all the way. I love how easy it is to use and it will have a lot more support since it's bigger than the nook. Also, the newest over, Oasys, is supposed to be a lot more comfortable in the hand. Not to mention, your Kindle can be tied to your GoodReads account, which is nifty. 7y
Bakingbookworm I love my kindle - backlit, great for getting ARCs/E-galleys but you can't download ebooks from the library with my Paperwhite model (at least here in Canada). My kids have a Kobo (I know it's not a Nook but it's the big competitor to Kindle here in Canada) but it lags, i'm not fond of its online bookstore .... but you can download ebooks free from the library. Some Kindles can download to Overdrive but I believe they're the tablet-like Kindles. 7y
BookishFeminist I'd never trade my Kindle for a Nook. I like the way it feels in my hands better & it feels like a more polished device, less lag. Kindle support is A+. I don't know about Nook's but I am very satisfied with the amount of support and products made for Kindle vs Nook. Also it's rare but where there is a discrepancy for ebook pricing I've always found kindle to be cheaper (I check both regularly since I have both apps on my phone but a Kindle device 7y
katedensen I like my iPad mini. 7y
Vinjii I love my Kindle. Paperwhite. Crisp. And great background light for when necessary. I have a Kobo because libraries in the U.K. don't offer ebooks for Kindles. But I far prefer the Kindle! 7y
Vinjii @katedfisher I don't like reading on a tablet or computer screen it hurts my eyes. 7y
erinreads @Matilda @emtobiasz @Ruri_kaichou @Bakingbookworm @BookishFeminist @Vinjii Thanks for your input! I think I'm leaning more towards the Kindle now? Should probably just buy one to get it over with! 😬 7y
erinreads @katedfisher Didn't even think of just getting a mini for this purpose! Apple would be so mad at me. 🙃 7y
BethFishReads Kobo!!!! 7y
Vinjii @erinreads Can you go to an electronic store and try both out? Might help. 7y
WanderingBookaneer Kindle Paper White 7y
TheLibrarian I was very hesitant about purchasing an ereader but finally decided to buy a Kindle and I love it. 7y
Ruri_kaichou Yes! It's very affordable if you get the one with ads. And the ads aren't really annoying. Also, battery life is too notch; weeks without recharging. Judd more to think about 😄 7y
CaitlinSiem I have a kindle paperwhite and I don't think I'll ever get anything else. 7y
LauraBeth I love my Kindle Paperwhite ❤️ 7y
katedensen @erinreads I love mine--especially because you can do iBooks or use the Nook and Kindle apps. But if you already have the full size, it might be redundant. Although if you just want to use it as an e-reader, you could probably find a reasonably priced 16 GB one on eBay... 7y
