I got anxious reading this just imagining waiting at Penn Station in NYC waiting on my track assignment. 😬 Always such a super stressful experience and it‘s so wild they never figured out how to make it just not be the absolute worst.
I got anxious reading this just imagining waiting at Penn Station in NYC waiting on my track assignment. 😬 Always such a super stressful experience and it‘s so wild they never figured out how to make it just not be the absolute worst.
Bought this book purely for the cover and I‘m currently 50 pages in and I‘m not regretting it.
Not a bad start to the year. No bingo (although really close since I'm halfway through To Paradise, but probably won't finish by tomorrow), but I can't complain, especially since I genuinely enjoyed all but one! Also read 4 (and an honorary one) from @karisa's #NewYearWhoDis list, with two of them, the tagged book and the Becky Chambers, being my only 5 star reads of the year so far. 💕 #bookspin #bookspinbingo
I‘m so out of practice of going into the office regularly that I actually forgot to pack my current book, but luckily I‘m never really without one with my phone. Starting my 4th read from @Karisa‘s #NewYearWhoDis list on my commute home and already into after the first paragraph. 😂
Also, I owe you some reviews, girl! I will say I have really liked to LOVED the 3 that I have already read, so your list is a hit. 💕
Look what showed up a day early! 😮 I know this book will deserve more of me than what I can give it this week, but I have no plans for Saturday now except for this book. Looking forward to this book shattering me into a million pieces.
I really loved Once There Were Wolves and I can tell I‘m going to love this one, too. Only 62 pages in, but the story is so beautifully written and I‘m so invested. Am I going to spend another day doing absolutely nothing but reading? Probably. #NYWD22 @Karisa
Got all my #NewYearWhoDis books lined up so I can finally start digging in. I‘m currently reading the tagged book which wasn‘t on @Karisa‘s list, but I‘m really enjoying it so have no doubt I will make it to the 4th in the series, which is the one on her list, sometime soon this year! Migrations will be the first off the list I‘ll start next.
Got my #bookspin list for January all set. Let‘s all admire my really bad handwriting! 😂 I always think I want to get into bullet journaling but know my strengths are better suited for making really pretty spreadsheets, so this will be my only “spread” for 2022 probably. 🤷🏼♀️
Making this my mantra for the new year. Happy New Years, everyone! 🍾💕
This has been my worst reading year since 2015! 😭 I hit so many slumps this year, so I‘m hopeful that 2022 is a bit kinder to me. So many books to read, no time for reading slumps. 🤞🏻#goodreads
I‘ve got a cat on my lap, a Betty Smith novel I haven‘t read yet, and my husband making me dinner in the kitchen. No real complaints here tonight.
Anyone ever put together one of these miniature sets? Got this super cute library themed one from my mother-in-law and I opened the package and immediately got overwhelmed. 😂 SO MANY PIECES. And you have to actually put the tiny books together, too. This could take awhile.
Thank you @Kshakal for my #jolabokaflodswap goodies! Excited for the book and chocolate and I LOVE the Christmas bookmarks. 💕
I finally won a giveaway on Goodreads and the book showed up in a week! It told me it‘d probably take 8-10 weeks to arrive so it was a nice surprise. Also, the cover colors are so gorgeous! 😍
Just finished my current read so no better time to start my actual #BookSpin pick! And I‘m actually really excited for my #DoubleSpin pick because I feel like I‘ve almost started this book like twenty times, so this month is the month! Thank you @TheAromaofBooks for continuing this fun tradition month after month! 💕
When your book is just sitting there, taunting you, while you sit at home working. Is it 5 yet? 😭
Taking a mini Outlander break to read Rainbow Rowell‘s new holiday short story. It‘s not actually available to tag here, but tagging the next best thing.
After a really bumpy year with reading, I feel like I'm back in the swing of things and excited to have fun with #BookSpin again. Not sure if I'll go all in with #BookSpinBingo, but I'm hoping to finally get to some of these, some of which have been on my TBR for far too long. Here is my December list. Almost made it a whole list of #BOTM titles I have and haven't read yet, but I have something in mind for 2022 for those!
Today‘s plans. Only about 13% in so I still have a lot more story to lose myself in. 🐝
I‘m really, really bad at actually completing reading challenges, but I LOVE planning for them and discovering new books and authors. Here are my tentative Winter choices for #Booked2022:
▪️About a cult/religion: We Can Only Save Ourselves
▫️Repetitive Title: I Am I Am I Am
▪️Set in China: She Who Became the Sun
▫️Weather in Title: Silent Winds, Dry Seas
▪️Black-owned Publisher: In Dependence
▫️Non-patriarchal Society: The End of Men
Tentative lineup to kick off #NYWD22 in January. @Karisa's list is amazing and features a lot more that I am 100% adding to my TBR. I love that we've swapped Charlotte McConaghy titles and will each be reading the other from her. Also been so intrigued by this Becky Chambers series, so I'm glad to finally get to it and hopefully make it to Karisa's actual pick, which is the 4th in the series. Great matching yet again, @monalyisha! #NewYearWhoDis
Hoping to finish my reread of the last Outlander book before the new one comes out on Tuesday! Might be a bit challenging because I‘ve gone into full Christmas decorating mode, but you never know. 🤷🏼♀️
Settled into my favorite reading spot in the house for the day. And of course I‘m enjoying this book. I haven‘t met a L.M. Montgomery book I haven‘t liked yet, I‘m just mad at myself for not reading ANY of her books when I was younger. Better late than never, though. 🤷🏼♀️
Tonight‘s plans. Not pictured: 🍾
Logical thinking. 😂 Now I want a croissant.
My new #wfh set up is really working for me. Personal iMac to the left with my music and some throughout the day reading and my boring, ugly Dell laptop and monitor to the right. This view is much better! Also, my day has been so full of meetings and calls today, so this hold coming in today is a fun distraction.
When you‘re just trying to do a little reading in bed but your ding dong of a cat has other plans. 🤦🏼♀️ At least she‘s cute (even when being the biggest ding dong)! #catsoflitsy
Fun fact: This is only the fourth book by a male author I‘ve read all year. Also, I know this one has gotten a lot of mixed reviews here, but I am absolutely loving it so far! Although I‘m just about halfway through and apparently the ending is when it gets all crazypants?
I‘m really glad I‘m finally back to wanting to read again. March through May was a slog and I could never turn my anxiety down enough to just sit and read for long lengths of time. I got to the end of May and started reading the right string of books (and okay, work isn‘t so stressful currently) and now I get up in the morning and can‘t wait to get some tea and sit in my library and read for hours. 💕
We don‘t deserve cats! Look at my sweet girl, Lucy. 😻 And I‘m excited that it‘s Ann Patchett for #authoramonth this month so I can finish up the last couple of books by her I haven‘t read yet.
Started my #bookspin book tonight. This cover is shiny and gorgeous so here‘s hoping I like the story as much as the cover! 🤞🏻
Pros: My husband just finished this and recommended I read this and now he‘s playing Japanese Breakfast in the other room to stay on brand. Cons: I‘m really, really craving Korean food and a little bummed we‘re not having that for dinner.
All set for #BookSpinBingo for March! Tagged book is my #BookSpin and Solutions and Other Problems is my #DoubleSpin. And already two books down!
I‘ve been shit at posting lately, but I got my books all lined up for #bookspin in March! I chose some deep picks off my TBR for this month, so I‘m looking forward to finally getting to them. Currently reading the tagged book and thought I‘d maybe need to substitute another book, but I‘ve been a bit busy so this book will take me into March now.
I had no plans to reread these books as I just reread them EIGHT MONTHS AGO, but I decided to snag the ebooks since they were on sale for future rereads and well, I had no self control clearly and here we are. 😂 My copy of ACOSF will be here tomorrow but I had already decided to wait until next weekend to start so a potentially bad work week wouldn‘t ruin it, so now it‘ll be good timing!
It‘s true, you can use anything as a bookmark. 🤷🏼♀️😻
Thank you @Chelleo for this fabulous #BookCupidSwap package with the local Ohio treats! Not sure if I‘m more excited for the book or the buckeyes! 😂 And I LOVED the paper the book was wrapped in. I‘m saving it... not sure for what, but it‘s too pretty to throw away. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 💕
I don‘t like movie tie-in editions, but I won this on Goodreads a couple of years ago and now it actually serves a purpose of perfectly filling the #moustacheoncover prompt for #Booked2021. 🥸 This is also my #BookSpin pick for the month and it‘s really good so far and just reaffirms the fact that I should be reading a lot more Agatha Christie in life! I‘ve only ever read And Then There Were None, so I know I have A LOT to explore.
Working from home all the time is sometimes so cruel to me since I‘m so close to what I‘d rather be doing but can‘t. This is what lurks behind me, taunting me. 😹 #catsoflitsy
Carried over my #DoubleSpin from January, which was my first read of February, so now I‘m already 1 down for #BookSpinBingo this month!
This collection of short stories and the novella is FANTASTIC. I enjoyed every single piece for its uniqueness and captivating story. FAVORITES: Richard of York Gave Battle in Vain, Anything Could Disappear, and the novella of the same title of the book. So, so good. Can‘t wait to read more from Danielle Evans!
So in love with this cover. 😍 Here‘s hoping the book is just as good. 🤞🏻
Such a solid month of reading for me! And I got a bingo for #BookSpinBingo! 🙌🏻 #BookSpin book done and #DoubleSpin in progress.
⭐️ Tagged book was my favorite! 💕
🍾 #NewYearWhoDis: Read 5 off of @monalyisha‘s fabulous list!
📚 #Booked2021: 6/24
