I loved this book! It was like revisiting nostalgia which was reaffirmed for being as good if not more awesome than I remembered it! I loved these guys growing up and would often end up watching their syndicated show after the late-night talk shows went off the air on Fridays. These guys genuinely loved movies and enjoyed sharing their love and criticism of film with the world. They despised one another but came to respect and love each other

Dirty car. Gabrielle Solis. Only reason her house is ever clean is because of hired help. When she doesn't have maids her kitchen is a total sty. #two4tuesday

Can we do #TuesdayTunes on a Thursday night?? This just came up on a Spotify-curated playlist, and I could smell that school bus seat vinyl and that particular teenage muskiness. Man…took me straight back to high school. Hadn‘t heard the song in years!

How many times do I have to learn
All the love I have is in my mind? 🎶
So good!

BarbaraBB Of course we can! I didn‘t know this The Verve song but am listening to it while typing this. I love it when a song brings back such memories! 8mo
BarbaraBB Still listening and what a good album! I only knew them from their biggest hit here, Bitter Sweet Symphony, which I didn‘t like much. 8mo

Megabooks @BarbaraBB yes! This was an album I bought back then for their single, but I like the rest of the album much more now than BSS; although the orchestral background is still great. I associate that song with the final scene in Cruel Intentions, which was my college roommate‘s favorite movie so I saw it A LOT! Many good memories with her! 😁😁 8mo
Megabooks @BarbaraBB I‘m definitely a nostalgia listener, but I‘m picking up some great new songs too lately. 8mo
Megabooks @vivastory the lyrics definitely hit harder as an adult than they did as a teen. 8mo
BarbaraBB I‘d love to know what you‘re picking up these days and hope you‘ll continue #ThursdayTunes 😜🥰 (edited) 8mo
TieDyeDude This song is new to me, but I like it! Similar orchestral arrangement to BSS. Is that throughout the album? 8mo
Bookwomble @TieDyeDude Yes, it is. I'd recommend Richard Ashcroft's solo albums to you, especially Alone With Everybody and Human Conditions. Song for the Lovers from the former has a great orchestral introduction 😊 https://open.spotify.com/track/7a90gal9tr3yS8bEXUvu8D?si=-O-28vPQSKOgNjSPsyRh4A&... (edited) 8mo
Megabooks @Bookwomble thanks for chiming in! And recommending another artist I‘ll check out! I hope you try the album @TieDyeDude 👍🏻 8mo
Bookwomble @Megabooks You're welcome. Richard Ashcroft is the lead singer and main songwriter for The Verve, so if you like them, you'll like him 😊 8mo
Megabooks @Bookwomble I am SO BAD at knowing the names of band members! 😂😂 even bands I‘ve enjoyed for years I‘d have trouble naming them. 8mo
Bookwomble @Megabooks You only know if you know! 😊 8mo

Me and Worf's mum sharing a cup of tea in the same glass 🍵🖖😊 (though hers was lapsang souchong from a replicator and mine was cinnamon and plum from a pot 🫖).
Worf's having family problems with his son, Alexander, this episode, and the subplot with the soliton wave propulsion system seems like an ill-conceived technology!

Ruthiella Amazing! 😂 10mo
Aimeesue Worf tries, but as a dad, he really struggles! 😏 10mo
SpellboundReader What a fun photo! Sometimes I wish for a replicator, especially when I'm not in the mood to cook or crave a chocolate dessert. 🖖 (Sorry, I know that's Vulcan, not Klingon. 😁) 10mo

Bookwomble @Ruthiella My son bought me a couple of the tea cups as a Trek-related Christmas gift a couple of years ago. I see them in the show a fair bit, but this is, I think, the first time I've coincidentally synchronised with a character 😄 10mo
Bookwomble @Aimeesue Yeah, he really has a good go at it in this episode, which with multiple-viewing foreknowledge of how it turns out, makes it all the more poignant 😢 10mo
Bookwomble @BeeCurious Oven chips or instant noodles are the nearest thing we have to a replicator, I guess 😏 And I think the Vulcan salute is universally accepted as a Trek-fan identifier, so you're safe 😊. I'm pretty sure any Klingon hand gestures would be hideously offensive, anyway 😄 10mo
SpellboundReader 😂 😁 10mo
LeahBergen “Earl Grey, hot” for me, please. 😉 10mo
Bookwomble @LeahBergen That is canonically and traditionally correct, and mainly what I do drink from these glasses, but I've got more than one kind of TBR, in this case Tea Brews in Reserve, which I need to drink my way through 😄 10mo

Of the two 5🌟 books I read in December, the other was Gangsters Don't Die by Tod Goldberg, this was the one I liked best, it was a nostalgia rush. They were movies for me growing up, their reviews and opinions shaped the movies I saw and those I skipped. I didn't always agree with them, but their show was always lively and well informed.

This was a very fun inside look into the world of TV fashion!

The book showcases a wide range of television shows, spanning all decades and genres. It is divided into different chapters based on style (ex. period shows, working women, and glamour to name a few). This organizational method worked so well (way better than it would be if it were chronological).

127/150 Before IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes, there was Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert, THE gold standard in movie criticism. I followed their show from its roots at a local Chicago PBS station, then on to syndication to a national audience. I didn't always agree with their reviews, but I admired their love of movies, and the intelligent and thoughtful way their expressed their opinion. Their cantankerous, combative and competitive ⬇️⬇️

RamsFan1963 relationship made for some great TV. Many others came and went, trying to duplicate their show, but none had the chemistry of Siskel & Ebert: At The Movies. 5 🌟 read 12mo

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Perfectly enjoyable audiobook of the narrative history of The Big Bang Theory interweaving quotes from cast and crew interviews.

CatMS I came to The Big Bang Theory late but loved every minute of it even when Sheldon was so annoying I wanted to scream. 13mo
