How to Be a Woman | Caitlin Moran
post image
Mehso-so

A #welllovedread that has received nearly universal acclaim but that doesn't sit well with me. There are too many tricky bits to Moran's brand of feminism. She's great when writing about making her way as a woman and her bonkers upbringing but waiting for a female Einstein and liberating Muslims just aren't ideals I can get behind, which is especially troubling because this book has been championed by many feminists. #riotgrams #welllovedreads

My #welllovedread is this copy of Emily of New Moon that I got from my mother, which she read when she was young. I can't remember where she got it from but the copyright is 1925 so it definitely had already been loved when she got it. #riotgrams

Maybe not a #welllovedread necessarily, but an aggressively often read & shared title back in the day that me & my not-a-reader sister passed between us until it fell to pieces.
Kept it for the memories of my first vampire 😁

aeeklund You never forget your first vampire. 7y
elkeOriginal @aeeklund Right?! 🤣 (edited) 7y
DGRachel This was the first (and last) book I loaned to my best friend in middle school. She returned my originally pristine copy to me looking like it had been through a war. I was not happy. 7y
elkeOriginal @DGRachel I do not lend books. Period. 😤 7y
Dragon Still have a thing for that bad boy, Lestat 💕 7y

You know I had to capture Ms. Austen in all her fabulousness as well loved. I fell in love with her work after reading Emma. 😍😍❤❤📚📚 #riotgram #janeausten #welllovedread

Waggles and the Dog Catcher | Marion Belden Cook
post image

A childhood favourite. The cover has fallen off. There are crayon and pencil marks inside. 🙄 And pages are ripped. All proof of my love. As a kid, I loved how Waggles kept fooling the dogcatcher into thinking he was a different dog. #welllovedread. #riotgrams

Pickpick

As good as I remembered. My 5 yo couldn't get enough. Ramona figuring out kindergarten, dropping out of kindergarten, gaining independence. I think my son completely identified with her struggles from wanting to have the new rubber boots, to the thrill of losing a first tooth. Loved sharing this book with him. #kidlit #kidclassic #nostalgia #welllovedread #riotgrams
