Much of it is a relaxing read, while giving instructions for a certain way of life (ideas I'm not sure I want to follow), I guess containing many answers.
I'd never read Buddhist stuff before so I'm hoping this was a good introduction.
I admire it, even though I doubt I'll walk that path. It's interesting though, and I love some of the grand concepts.

pick#AuthorAMonth This was a very short memoir read by Ruth. She sits uncomfortably in front of a mirror for 3 hours and records her thoughts. Starting with the lines and blemishes she sees but leading to memories and tangents about her parents and growing up half Asian and half white. It sounds like an interesting exercise but one I‘m not likely to try.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It was really short and didn‘t go into as much detail as I would have liked, in places. The first half was strong and what I expected from the title. The first half supported his thesis. The second half did not; in fact, it sort of disproved it (at least for me). 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Day 5 #Translate This section of a 9th century Chinese poem, translated into English, just goes to show that despite all our advancements and differences all these many years later, at the end of the day we're all just human looking for someone to love and spend our lives with. 💙😢❤️
