Chanakya's Chant | Ashwin Sanghi

Panpan

A historic fiction based on the life of the brilliant strategist, Chanakya. The book has 2 parallel story lines. One is about how Chanakya planned and succeeded in installing Chandragupta in the throne of Magadha in 340BC. Another happens in present day, where Gangasagar Mishra, a contemporary of Chanakya makes Chandini Gupta the prime minister of India.

Pickpick

Book 1 - Week 1 2022

The protagonist Kunjuni who is a journalist has gone through the pain of being apart from his family and had witnessed the heartbreaking scenes of War. He finds his Guru (teacher) in his daughter who just passed away.

Dilara That sounds affecting! I have O. V. Vijayan's The Legends of Khasak in my wishlist - I should really make an effort to find it. 2y
AlRah @Dilara That is one of the best books in malayalam... I am really curious to know how they good the translation is.. 2y
Dilara @AlRah I am curious as well! It looks like the Penguin English version (translated by Vijayan himself) is only available second-hand for more money than the original selling price, so I'll probably read the French translation. The translator sounds legit: she lives in Kerala part of the year and has a number of other translations under her belt. 2y

Pickpick

Immortal talks, Book 1 by Shunya is a very interesting read. The book is about the teachings imparted by an immortal lord to his disciples.
The book explores topics like Karma, desire, destiny, death, alternate reality etc. The book is a very engrossing and at the same time a little confusing. I plan to read it again for deeper understanding once I finish the Book 2.

Once people believed in prophets and astrologers: and therefore people believed: 'Everything is fate: you shall, for you must!'
Then again people mistrusted prophets and astrologers: therefore people believed: 'Everything is freedom : you can, for you will'
