“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.” ― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

My first Angie Thomas read, I‘m told the Hate U Give is even better than this one.
This book is a classic for me... as often is the case, the movie did not do it justice. It‘s not often that a book makes me cry, this one gets me every time.
Epic! I have read this book twice in it‘s entirety and have reread passages countless times. This book has not only stood the test of time, it is arguably more relevant now than ever.
This was one of those books that I wondered whether or not it would live up to the hype & praise that preceded my reading it... well, it surpassed it! I loved this book so much... it‘s good from the beginning, but at some point it grew wings and I flew through it. When I finished it, I reveled in the story for a while and then I felt sad it was over! If it has been on your TBR list for a while (as it was mine) I recommend moving it to the top!
Loved these two books with all my heart! Fredrick Backman is pure gold and I will be reading more of his creations! He creates characters so real that I found myself worrying about them when I was away from the book (not by choice)! There is so much wisdom in these stories that I almost ran out of tabs! Thanks @JanuarieTimewalker13 for introducing me to this author!
I really enjoyed this YA novel! Very strong characters, love/romance, but no gratuitous sex. I will be passing this on to my soon to be 17 year old niece. Oh and gorgeous cover art!!
There‘s nothing we love more than a British whodunnit! Enjoying this so far...
I‘ve loved mysteries since I was a kid and this series was a childhood favorite! I recently found this one (#1 in the series) on Thrift and am thoroughly enjoying rereading it!
I‘ll give this one 4 stars, better than “Daisy Jones and the six” but not as good as “Maybe in another life.” @JanuarieTimewalker13 I am done with Taylor Jenkins Reid for a while!!
These are a few of my favorite things...
I thoroughly enjoyed this whodunnit... there are those who claim they figured it out too easily, but I doubt them. Even if you knew where parts of the story would lead, I felt there was enough depth to make this enjoyable. I also felt the author has an effortlessly descriptive style and was surprised to learn this was his first novel.
So true...
We had a tough time staying awake during the first 100 pages or so. The format is more tedious than it is fun and unique. The book definitely gets better as it goes on and the ending is good and clever. If you are fascinated by drugs and rock and roll then you may enjoy this one. TJR is a wonderful writer, but even she couldn‘t make this a real hit in my book. 😉
Robert James Waller is one of my favorite authors not only because he knows how to tell a story, but because he makes you feel like you are living it. This is a book that will pull you in and make you forget about the outside world.
Not just a book but a philosophy, a way of life! Epic, if you haven't read it invest the time! 📘💙
