A recently deceased woman meets the one in the afterlife waiting room, scoring a second chance at life (and love!) if she can find him on earth before ten days are up If she wasnt dead already, Delphie would be dying of embarrassment. Not only did she just die by choking on a microwaveable burger, but now shes standing in her shine like a star nightie in front of the hottest man shes ever seen. And hes smiling at her. As they start to chat, everything else becomes background noise. That is until someone comes running out of a door, yelling something about a huge mistake, and sends the dreamy stranger back down to earth. And here Delphie was thinking her luck might be different in the afterlife. When Delphie is offered a deal in which she can return to earth and reconnect with the mysterious stranger, she jumps at the opportunity to find her possible soulmate and a fresh start at life. But in a city of millions, Delphie is going to have to listen to her heart, learn to ask for help, and perhaps even see the magic in the life shes leaving behind

What a delightful rom-com! A homage to romance tropes, though I think the first grumpy grumpy romance I‘ve read. I definitely recommend! 5⭐️

I loved this book! A bit out there, yes. But that‘s what reading is for me- a place to temporarily escape normality. Merritt is hilarious, Delphie‘s growth is what life is all about, and Cooper‘s dreamy-ness is, well dreamy, even when he‘s broody. A fun, fluffy, romance book full of emotion that I happily read in a day. Book #113 in 2024

Delphie chokes on a bite of hamburger and ends up in the Afterlife. Jonah arrives in the Afterlife at the same time, and as soon as they meet it seems as though they're soulmates. Delphie's Afterlife therapist Merritt realizes that Jonah is only a "visitor" to the Afterlife, though, and isn't actually meant to die.

CoffeeNBooks So she lets Delphie return to the land of the living with strict instructions that she must find Jonah within 10 days and he has to kiss her in order for her to be able to stay. Otherwise, she'll have to return to the Afterlife.

I think my favorite place to suspend disbelief is in a sweet romance. I loved how this all came together at the end - some of which I anticipated but other aspects were a fun surprise.

There is a lot for me to unpack with this one. Lots of different themes:
-Letting go of the past
-Soulmates
-Found family
-Living life to the fullest
-lots of romance tropes ❤️
Overall I enjoyed it, even though it stressed me out at times, lol 😆
A solid pick.

Loner Delphie chokes to death and opens her eyes in Evermore. While she's still in shock about having lost her rather boring life, she meets a handsome man and there is an instant spark between them. Unfortunately, the man, Jonah, is being sent back to Earth because he was just visiting Evermore during a surgical procedure. Delphie is in double shock, first she's dead and there is nobody who will ⬇️

julesG take care of her elderly neighbour, second she just met her soulmate who didn't get to stay. This can't do. She strikes a bargain with her afterlife coach who lets her get back to Earth for ten days. Within those ten days she must find Jonah and kiss him to be able to stay alive, otherwise she will die again and help her afterlife coach with their pet project.

A romantic comedy that sees Delphie go through lots of embarrassing ⬇️ 11mo
julesG moments which help her change her life and find new friends. But will she find her soulmate and arrange care for her neighbour Mr Yoon before the time runs out?

This novel plays with nearly all the romance tropes and doesn't even try to deny it. The outcome of the story was predictable early on, it was still fun seeing Delphie open up, realise some truths and find herself. 11mo
