This is a slow burn romance. I loved the characters and this author knows how to develop a character and story so that it all gets under your skin in the best way. This is not a series, but there are several minor characters that I would love to read further about. I know a book is great when you are not ready to leave them. 5 ⭐️

I love all of Mariana‘s books and this was no exception. Such great characters and such a great story. This book really introduces Zapata‘s work and I think everyone should read this book.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a quick read. It‘s a pretty trope filled slow burn romance, but definitely worth it. I‘ll be adding more of Mariana Zapata‘s books to my TBR!

Lauren_reading Wall of Winnipeg and Kulti are my favorite by her - but they‘re all good. 5y
ireadpastbedtime Good to know! Thank you! 5y

4/5 Stars

This is the 3rd re-read I‘ve done this week. It‘s been a Mariana Zapata audiobook marathon. 😄 Unfortunately, I started a new job this week and my commute has been cut tremendously. This is a good thing, except now I don‘t know when I‘m going to listen to my books!! 😄😄 I first read this book in 2015 and I remember it being great. I definitely think Mariana has grown as a writer and her newer books are much better #romantsy #romance

I wanted this book to go on forever!!! I loved it so much. This might tie for best Zapata book with Wall. So great! (I‘ll update book when it‘s in the system) #romance #romantsy #kindleunlimited

CoffeeK8 Me too, it was lovely! 5y
Anitareads Wall is still my favorite by her but this one comes very close. 5y

Just enjoyed a reread via #audiobook of this very entertaining slow burn romance. Now the two main characters are difficult at the beginning, but their journey is great. I believe this was Zapata‘s 1st book and it began her becoming the queen of slow burn. If you enjoy motorcycles, tattoos and enemies to lovers, you will enjoy this one. #glorytotheguild

I hated both MC‘s at first. She seemed judgy and entitled. He seemed like and arrogant asshole in need of a crash course in feminism. But Mariana Zapata managed to turn these two knuckleheads into an endearingly adorable duo. All the characters are well written and fleshed out. The storyline is well developed. The sexy times are steamy. I laughed, I cried, I spent way too much time googling tattoos that could be from this book.

Today‘s #BookAndNature selection is this lovely Mariana Zapata book, if you count walking around the stand of Russian Olives and my great-grandma‘s wild roses out back as nature. This morning I happily packed up the chaos of my five nieces and nephews to go off and enjoy actual nature with my mom while I stay home to recover from their 2 week invasion of my life. Love ‘em, but happy to say goodbye, lol.

In 60 days we'll be moving 6,540 miles across the pacific leaving our wonderful little island we've called home for 6 years. Meanwhile, audio books are LIFE while I make it through this mess preparing to pack out.

Another rainy blah day here again so I curled up in my favourite chair and read. Love her slow burn romances with the not-so-usual-romance-characters.

Another great contemporary romance! Dex owns a tattoo shop where Iris gets a job through her brother. The relationship development in Zapata's books is always slow and on 🔥 #romantsy Her new book came out this weekend and I can't wait!

I'm catching up on my #marchreads reviewing, and picking up where I left off finds us beginning my foray through Mariana Zapata's backlist. I was fascinated, reading her books from newest to oldest, to see her develop into such a strong emotional writer. Her first books all have the seeds of what she develops later, and I really enjoyed them. Under Locke is one of her middle books, and it's a solid slow burn. 👍#romantsy #slowburn

How embarrassing! I got my own March stats WRONG! (I blame Goodreads organizing my add date not read date 😂) But in any event, here it is corrected! #statsgeek

The perils of working from home ? of the time - almost everyone else is in a different time zone (and thus a different weather system) so you don't really get a "snow day" it's just another day. That happens to have snow in it. Oh well, it's in exchange for all the lunches I can take during the summer when I go swim in my in-laws pool.

thegirlwiththelibrarybag I'd also love a snow day, they seem quite magical! 7y
raelaschoenherr I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota and we actually don't get that many snow days because everyone is so used to it and the plowing system is really good! 7y

ramyasbookshelf 😂😂😂 want to repost that! I live in Georgia and we get snow days once in a blue moon.. 7y
Reviewsbylola I always wonder if I would actually get anything done if I worked from home. Probably not. 😂 7y
ReadingSusan @ramyasbookshelf omg me too. The day we had where we were supposed to get five inches and we got nothing was the saddest day. Indeed at least one snow a year. 7y
Redwritinghood Same here. A snow day just means I still have to work even though my kids are home from school to offer more distractions. 7y
Melissa_J We don't get snow days no matter how much snow is expected, the schools always stay open (buses will get cancelled though) and businesses stay open. Then again, I live in a winter city so snow is just part of life. 7y
Pinkmeghan @thegirlwiththelibrarybag I agree! I'm jealous of my friends texting me about all the fun relaxing stuff they're doing today! 😂 7y
Pinkmeghan @raelaschoenherr We pretty much only get them during nor'easters when the state calls a driving ban. It's been a quiet winter this year and now all of a sudden we're supposed to get 2 feet today 🙈 7y
Pinkmeghan @ramyasbookshelf @ReadingSusan you lovelies are welcome to my snow! ❄️❄️❄️ 😂 7y
Pinkmeghan @Reviewsbylola it's not always easy! My husband did it for a while too and he was not suited for it, he's much happier in an office! 7y
Pinkmeghan @Redwritinghood ha my distraction is my husband but same! 7y
Pinkmeghan @Melissa_J we pretty much only close down for nor'easters with the high winds and low visibility. We're on a state driving ban now, which forces everything to close for the storm. I'm more nervous than usual though because this is our first winter in our new house at the bottom of a hill. We lost power for a few hours during the first ❄️ of the season, now I'm preparing for it! 7y
Melissa_J @Pinkmeghan stay warm! Hopefully your power stays on this time. 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Pinkmeghan, I live in Melbourne (a part of Australia that sees no snow) We should get heat days, but no 😭 7y
raelaschoenherr Wow, I don't think we've ever had a driving ban! Enjoy staying cozy at home even if you do have to work :) Are you actually getting as much as the forecast said? That so rarely happens :) 7y
ReadingSusan @Pinkmeghan ha ha yes my friend who lives in NJ said we can switch houses this week 😂 7y
Pinkmeghan @thegirlwiththelibrarybag that sounds kind of lovely right now lol! 🏝 7y
Pinkmeghan @raelaschoenherr sometimes I think we have so many driving bans to keep the non-new Englanders off the roads. Perils of living in a college town. The storm did get downgraded in inches, but not in wind, it's going to change over to rain this afternoon so I'll have to go shovel before it changes over. We'll probably end up in the 10" band, not too bad. 7y
Pinkmeghan @ReadingSusan ha! Great minds! 😂 7y
Pinkmeghan @raelaschoenherr I thought of you when I just heard that the New Hampshire liquor stores are closing due to snow. That's how you know the storm is bad!! 😂🍷❄️ 7y
raelaschoenherr Ha!! Yep, that's a bad storm if the liquor stores are closing :) 7y

My next Mariana Zapata read #osrbc #romantsy

EloisaJames Interested to see what you think. Have you read Kristan Ashley's Mystery Man? 7y
AmandaMarie @EloisaJames I enjoyed it, a lot! It was a little different from the usual MC romance books I've read but a good different... I haven't read Mystery Man. I've read her Rock Chick series and her Colorado Mountain series but haven't gotten around to reading the Dream Man series yet. 7y

This was my third book by the author. I adored the other two (Wall of Winnipeg and Lingus). This one had a wallflower heroine and a possessive asshat of a hero. Guess this one just wasn't for me. Someone else might enjoy it though.

Dex Locke is a tatted up member of an Austin motorcycle club. Iris is a girl who has lived through a lot of loss and heartache. About to start this audiobook. I have loved all of Mariana Zapata's books so far. ❤️❤️ I hope this is as good as Kulti and Wall of Winnipeg. #MarianaZapata #UnderLocke #hashtaggingbecauseican 👏🏼👏🏼☺️
