I love how this author writes characters. This was about as much as I get into football these days. 😂

This book is the definition of slow burn. Some of the best character development I have ever come across. The whole story is an exercise in subtlety, from the plot to the way the layer of the characters are slowly revealed. If not my favorite of the year it will be close. I wish every book I read was this good. 5⭐️

I found this book so much fun to read. The characters were so different from each other but went so well together. I have had this on my radar for so long and I am glad I finally got to it. I‘m giving this book a 4.5 because I did find it a little wordy. It kind of felt like the author wanted to hit a certain number of words to publish this book. Overall a fun read.
This was a great slow burn sports romance. For some reason I love the marriage of convenience trope.

I know I‘m late on this one, but I just loved it. Great slow-burn romance. What‘s not to love about Aiden and Vanessa. I might have swooned over the “big guy” a few times. Really liked these two and their perfectly imperfect love story!
Started the day off with breakfast and a book in bed and then moved to the swim tub ( I bought this book at Costco because how often is Winnipeg in a book title ?! 🤯)
I really liked reading about Aiden and Vanessa story. This is my second book about this author and I'll be buying more. It's slow burn romance and she is so good at building the tension until something more happens. Loved it! 🥰
Currently reading. I was in the mood for a romance. 🩷🌷
All of Zapata‘s book are an Instant five stars.
I loved it from the beginning and I kept on loving it till the ending sentence. The romance was amazing and I loved both of the main characters with all my heart.
I figured out that there was a book about one of the characters in this book and I already ordered it and am waiting expectingly.

I didn‘t even know Mariana Zapata has a new book but I am super psyched! Not in the database yet!
Instant add-to-cart, you know?

What no one tells you is that the road to accomplishing your goals isn't a straight line; it looks more like a corn maze. You stopped, you went, you backed up, and took a few wrong turns along the way, but the important thing you had to remember was that there was an exit. Somewhere.
I‘m not getting the rave reviews on this. It‘s beyond dense 665 pages of nonsense. There is a slow burn romance and whatever you want to call this. 130 pages in the to MC‘s still aren‘t having any interaction and Aiden the “hero” is one dimensional jerk. Yeah that. Life is too short for this kinda read #romantsy #readingchallenge2022
I really enjoyed this book however it didn‘t live up to my expectations…
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sweet story but left me cold.
I didn't like Vanessa who was soo insecure. She needed Aiden to stand for her and then he used his fists. I just can't understand what's hot in violence or why you would need someone to speak/act for you. I still liked friendship of Vanessa & Aiden. For me it's hard to understand why this kind of book should be this long because it was partly annoyingly repetitive.
I don't know why I so love Mariana Zapata's romances with protagonists who just don't communicate, but I do. A marriage of convenience between two damaged individuals and an extremely slow burn romance were apparently catnip because I loved this book! I need to reread From Lukov with Love soon.
Content warning for abuse.

Romance lovers Mariana Zapata has a new book out today!
The book isn‘t in the system. I requested it be added. Does anyone know how long that takes? I thought I saw something that said we can add books to the library ourselves if we are on the desktop version. Is that true?

End of day 2 for #24B4Monday. Mainly listening to tagged #audiobook which is a comfort reread. Pretty great time today!

I absolutely love this author. I‘m currently addicted to #slowburn romances and Mariana Zapata is the queen. I read this one a few years ago but decided to try out the audio version. Still loved it. Also, if anyone else loves slow burns, Mariana‘s The Slow Burners Facebook group is always giving me great recommendations! #romance #romantsy #junereads
I‘m doing a little re-reading right now because I‘ve had some trouble getting into my books... Mariana Zapata writes a great romance and it‘s been awhile since I‘ve read this one so it almost feels brand new. ☺️ #junereads #romance #slowburn #marianazapata
Oh my goodness. You were all right. I loved it. I‘d been saving this one, just a little bit worried it wouldn‘t live up to the hype. Ugh, I love it when I‘m wrong and the hype is right.

Definitely Mariana Zapata. I read different genres and don't tend to stick with the same authors (even if I like them), because I'm always reading & searching for new ones. Zapata is my go-to author, I have read all of her books.
I made it to 20% of the book and I don't get how this book made it to peoples top 10 of the year and in some cases the top book.
From the beginning it is all about Aiden and the few facts we have about whatever her name is they are glossed over.
Winnipeg is an a-hole of the first order and she just ignores the way he treats her? Oh hell to the no!
Don't waste your time.
My plan for the evening! 💕 #romantsy
Mariana Zapata (I tagged my favorite book by her) or Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi (I just love her lyrical style).

This is the 2nd book I‘ve read by Zapata. She‘s got a definite formula she follows. In fact, the formula is so predictable, I wish I had taken time in between reading each novel. This one is considered to be her best, but I liked Lukov better. Then again, if I had read them in a different order maybe I would have felt differently. I must say her slow burn style is a bit too slow. I also think she needs to work on cutting out unnecessary details.
I liked Zapata‘s Lukov a lot, but some people say this is even better. We‘ll see!
This was so slow for me. I did enjoy the ending, but I was honestly bored with this book
Happy Valentines Day everyone! Pretty excited about my Bookish Haul today. #TreatYoSelf #SleepingCatCandles #PositiveVibesOnly
From Lukov isn‘t in the database but it‘s a total pick! Slow burn, enemies-to-lovers, teaming up for pairs figure skating. The heroine is worried about being washed up and the hero is figure skating‘s golden boy! 💖⛸ #romantsy (beautiful mug from @SiriuslyWeasley #muglove)
I want to say this book is not literary but that would be such a disservice to this wonderful story. A story about two people who come from such disaster childhoods only to make something of themselves but maybe have trouble believing when people show up for them😭😭. Aside from the growing relationship between MC‘s Vanessa and Aiden, there‘s such great friendship between Vanessa and her bff Diana that was so funny and heartbreakingly real. Pick.
I'm flying back to university in Durham in 36 hours and have vowed to eat all the remaining Christmas chocolate before then 😍
So I started 'The Wall of Winnipeg and Me' today; I've heard good things but it has been a little slow so far. The characters are interesting so I'm going to give it a little longer 😊

----best first line in a book, ever---
"I was going to murder his ass." -Vanessa from The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata ♥
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 LOVE LOVE LOVE. It takes an amazing author to take a reader on a journey for hundreds....and hundreds of pages, only to reward them with one of the best payoffs EVER. Loved this 700 page slow burn to the moon and back. 💙
Having a sick day with a poorly lil man ....time to catch up on some just for fun reading. Reading "dear Aaron" same author but isn't listed.
I finished The Wall of Winnipeg and Me last night!
I had mixed feeling feelings. I enjoyed the last 40% far more than the first 60%. It is a bit of a slow go for me at first. I did still like that, just not as much. I loved the end half and that's when I got sucked in and really fell in love with Aiden's character! The end was so good and made md want more!!!
