Gone with the Wind | Margareth Mitchell

Fantastic movie. Although, I can't say that my husband is about to enjoy this epic (long in other words) film. It's my second time watching it. Not sure if I should read the book though. With all the interludes in the movie I'm sure I'll have to stop a few many times. Anyone read it? Was it worth it?

Kmmsellers I love the book! I used to read it once a year. 7y
Texreader It's an amazing book. I put it off for years thinking "bleh." Then I read it and loved it. I should reread it!! 7y
DGRachel Loved the book! 7y

JackOBotts A friend recommended the book to me...a labor of love. It took me over a month to complete, but it was worth it. Enjoy! 7y
OrangeMooseReads I wrote a paper comparing the book and the movie. So many big differences that contribute to both Rhett and Scarlet and their romance. The movie is wonderful, but I will always love the book more. 7y
rustoryhuf Read the book, then watched the movie. Loved both. 7y
StephanieMarie Loved the book! It's a long read but worth it absolutely 7y
Wife Worth reading! 7y
KathyWheeler I read GWTW in high school and got so caught up in that I would read it in class by hiding it in front of my textbook and pretending I was looking at the text. My algebra teacher noticed and gave a pop quiz on what he had just that moment said. I was the only one to get a 0; I never read in his class again. 😄 I never really cared for the movie that much though; there were times when it bored me. 7y
CoverToCoverGirl I've read it 3 times and have watched the movie which was good.. but enjoyed the book more 🤓 7y
rubyslippersreads I don't know how many times I've read GWTW but, at least for me, the length was never an issue because I couldn't put it down. Maybe not quite as much now, since I practically know it by heart. All I can say is, I am jealous of anyone who gets to read it for the first time. 😄 7y
TheBookStacker My boyfriend promised to set aside time for us to watch, I plan to do it after I finish the book for the #gwtwreadalong I love the movie, excited for the book! 7y
Dolly This was one of my first adult reads from ages ago. I absolutely loved it. If it's not for you you will know early on. 7y
Suet624 Loved the book. 7y
ThatBookishGal ? my husband just watched it for the first time last summer. Overall, he enjoyed it. However, to this day, he still has rants over the "unnecessary" intermission! 7y
Birdsong28 @JacksterL0ve Its a long read but worth it as you see how they swapped or changed how things happened to suit the flow of the film. Go on the book's profile to see my review if you want to see what I thought of it. 📖📚 7y

Since the season premier of harlots, I'm at a standstill if I should get this book or not. Pretty pricey, but a lot of reviews have said it's a great read. What are ya'lls thought??

Oftencantdecide I haven't read it, but I read most of this book on a similar subject and found it really interesting. 7y
JacksterL0ve @Oftencantdecide interesting I'll have to read that one after 😂 7y
bookandcat Does your library have a copy? That IS pretty pricey! But I have been known to collect stuff like that :-D 7y
JacksterL0ve @bookandcat unfortunately they do not. Plus I like to keep the books I read. I love my collection. 7y
bookandcat @JacksterL0ve then my vote is for a buy!! 7y

Mehso-so

Finally finished! It's taking longer than usual to finish up her books. They seem to be getting a little more dull.

BarbaraTheBibliophage I loved the first ten or so, but wish she would have quit this series while she was at her prime! 7y
Adam_Z Yeah, the first 10 or so were good. I stuck it out through something like 18 or 19 and finally threw in the towel - I thought it got to the point where each book was written using the same outline, LOL. 7y
VoraciousReader I got really disappointed with Anita about 7-8 books in because she kept doing such stupid things that weren't like her, & getting so caught up in sex to the point she was always letting it compromise her thinking. Sad, because I really liked her spunk & independence. 7y

tpixie @BarbaraTheBibliophage @Adam_Z @VoraciousReader that's exactly how I felt about Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books. 7y
flip58 I absolutely loved this series into Narcississ in Chains. I wanted my money back for that book 7y
Christyco125 I loved the series also. I still re-read the first 7. I love Anita and choose not to acknowledge the utter defilement of her character in the later books. 7y
