I‘m on a romance roll. I loved that this was unintentionally inspired by “When Harry Met Sally.” You can see hints of that at play throughout the book. I think it added to the depth of the storyline.

Think body positive Bachelorette and your half way there. This is a fun romance with some soul searching thrown in. I loved most of the characters and I didn‘t disagree with most of the MC‘s decisions. So overall a pretty great book.

Loved this series, too bad it‘s over. I like that Charlie learned to be honest. However, I really don‘t agree with the final coupling.
Ok, so I started this thinking it would be a murder mystery. Husband died in a mysterious way, did the wife do it?
While their was murder and almost murder as well as some mystery, they weren‘t all wrapped together. So I‘m still counting this towards the Murder Mystery prompt for #Booked2022 since it had all the elements.

I tried for a few weeks but in the end I gave in. I made about 50% and realized I had a completely different expectation of the book that it just wasn‘t meeting. So I‘ll need to go back to drawing board for the #Booked2022 Nautical Adventure prompt.
I‘m all caught up with April‘s letters. 🥳 Now, I just need to reply to the ones from May. 🤨
#LitsyLove
This book has left me without words. I‘m afraid even a little will give away too much so I‘ll add more in the comments👇. But know that this is way beyond just a horror story. I highly recommend going in blind.

I am not a fan of epistolary novels, but I really enjoyed this book. It could have been all of the scheming and scandals. Glad I joined in the #Pemberlittens read along.
P.S. @sprainedbrain I watched the Prime movie you posted. Sir James - He comes across as even more unaware than in the book. 😳
This is a tragic immigrant story but also about how well can you really know another person. There‘s a little mystery, some romance, and some introspection.

🌟Yes, if I stay up late reading
🌟Cormoran Strike novels and Emma - I have an almost annual reread of them all
🌟Getting through the month with work. I‘m on a countdown to the end but I don‘t want short timers to creep in before I‘m done.

Wrapping up my #AprilStats a little late. But I‘m keeping up with my #goals so far.
Happy May reading everyone.

I needed this today. I have made a change in my work life to help with my home life. It is a scary thought to move on and try something different when I loved what I had so much.

This Grady Hendrix novella was freaking hilarious. It‘s like the “Astronaut Farmer” but with more beer and less dental hygiene. I laughed out loud so many times during the #audio. 🤣🤣🤣
Woohoo - I‘m growing! I‘ve read 2 non-fiction so far this year. And they were both not yawn inducing drudgery. This audiobook was good mix of personal bio and crime thriller. As a narrator, the author was pretty good but had some issues with pronunciation. Written by a journalist ☑️ #Booked2022
The year 1866 was signalised by a remarkable incident, a mysterious and puzzling phenomenon, which doubtless no has yet forgotten.
#FirstLineFridays
Taking on a classic to knock one of the #Booked2022 prompts out.
Grady Hendrix is becoming one of my “must buy” authors. His slightly funny and campy horror stories always get me hooked. I started this one in the morning and finished it before bed.
Also, another #Pantone2022 color in the books, #CaramelCafe
I‘m not sure what it says about me when I say enjoyed a book about death. The author made this highly unlikable subject easy to read and provided some real insight into your corporeal options. It also knocked off another color, #Amazon , for #Pantone2022.
Thanks for the tag @erzascarletbookgasm Happy 🐪 day!

Vacation read finished!
Not bad, a very light pick. Somewhat mystery and a bit of found family in the end.
I also got to knock a few #Pantone2022 colors as well: #Basil #Tapioca #LodenFrost
The best part of the trip was stopping by The Bookshelf in Thomasville, GA. I‘ve listened to their podcast “From the Front Porch” off and on and it was great to see it in person. Great staff and selection if you ever get this way.
Running a bit behind on letters. So I‘m sending some #LitsyLove from the southern-most point on our family‘s grand tour of Florida. #snailmail

I picked this book simply to knock out another #Pantine2022 color, #GossamerPink. While I think I did well on that match, this YA murder mystery wasn‘t really match for me. The story is a bit tedious and fraught with teenage insecurities.
Also, finishes my #Booked2022 Make Your Own Prompt - Choose a book by its cover.
I‘ve been doing a read along of this but I couldn‘t stay at the 2 chapter a day pace. (Discovered an unknown #readinghabit) The first half of the book includes some of the P&P story from Mary‘s perspective and details after that gives her character more depth. It is was hard in many places because it was so sad at the beginning but like an Austen novel this heroine gets a satisfying end as well.

While this wasn‘t completed by Jane Austen, the author who did made a fantastic effort to provide this with Austenesque ending. Bravo “Another Lady”! This also helped close out another #Pantone2022 color prompt. #SnowWhite.
I was reading this for IRL book club. I just can‘t make myself keep going. The audio narrator was fine but this is just not that interesting to me right now.

There are quite few “Are you there God? It‘s me Margaret.” moments with a “Clueless” feel. Not terribly deep but endearing.
Not my best color match for #Pantone2022 but close. Also completed my #Booked2022 prompt about a royal.

📖 I‘m reading Sanditon with the #Pemberlittens but I also read a Jane Austen book every year.

I‘ve got mail!!! @LibrarianRyan you‘re wonderful watercolor came in. So cute! #VCS. I also received my first set of #LitsyLove mail. Great way to start off my week. Thank you all.
Such a sweet and lovely story. Found family, awesome kiddos, and cute love story vibes. Talia the gnome was my favorite. 🌱🪴🕳 A great lighter read after the seriousness of “What Storm.” Also, the #audio narrator was excellent and made it even harder to stop listening.

This was a difficult book to read, not because I wasn‘t pulled in but because the realism of the writing. This is a multi-POV fictional accounts of the Haitian earthquake of 2010 and aftermath. Profound, emotional, and book hangover worthy.

1. I like to mix it up with both single and mult-POV
2. No. Unfortunately, I‘m a single language reader.
3. I lean more towards mood if I don‘t have a challenge. Challenge reading is by the list, top to bottom.

Another month down on my #2022readingbracket Death of a Red Heroine was a tough but enjoyable read. I‘m glad I toughed it out.
For the overall 2 month winner, I had to go with The Girls. It was a much quicker and interesting story to me.
My #Feburarystats are little lean on pages but I‘m making progress on my challenges. #Goals March should be a better month since I‘m a 1/3 of the way through 2 books and joining 2 #PemberLittens read alongs.
Happy March reading everyone. 📖

Finally hit the BFF status so grabbing a new library bag. Since I can‘t resist a true-crime podcast, the tagged book seemed a natural pick. I also picked up a couple of extra add-ons this month. I just finished Inventing Anna and the #BOTM version of My Friend Anna was less than Amazon so I thought why not. Then, Cartographers looked interesting also. It‘s going to be a full box this month.
Overall it was quite enjoyable but there were places in the book that I had to push through. It was a little spy, a little romance, some coming of age (or conquering her childhood?) for a grown woman, and a lot of found family. I think what put me off was how Yolanda seemed so immature for her age. Maybe I‘m just jaded? 🤷♀️

This is a soft pick for me. The story revolves around 2 missing girls and estranged friends. The disappearances are resolved as expected. However, despite the predictably, it was a good story.
The #audio narrator was excellent. He gave each character a distinct voice.

Okay, this one took some doing but I finished. ☑️ I had some difficulties with how rigid the language was, however, it makes some sense in the context of the story. Then there were sooo many random poems, couplets, and stanzas littered through out. I added my favorite to the image. #Booked2022 Set in China; #poetrymatters
A few more cards made it to my mailbox for #ValentineCardSwap. This was so much fun. Thanks @LibrarianRyan
I Received some lovely cards for the #ValentineCardSwap. They truly brightened my day to open them. Thank you. 💖

Still plugging away at the tagged book. It‘s gotten interesting and the random shout outs Chinese poetry to help the story along keep it from being boring.
