Loved this - expected it to be a predictable teen read but it totally had me gripped (read it in a day) and I didn‘t see the twists and turns coming. Excellent read, definitely keeping an eye out for her next book!

Enjoyed this read. It was billed as a graphic novel in my local library which isn‘t what it is. There are lovely illustrations of each lady, a couple of pages of text about them and then a page with a comic strip about the authors discussing them. It makes a nice change from usual list of inspirational historical women and is a good reminder that history is a reflection of who writes it and social opinions of the time.

Loved this comic book collection - Goldie is a fantastic character but so is everyone else. I really like the retro setting and the art style. It‘s everything I loved about Nancy Drew but written with a modern sensibility - totally recommenced.

Enjoyable supernatural mystery set in an English High School. It has the bonus of being written by someone who actually lives in the U.K. and knows the system so the turn of phrase, imagery and characters all felt authentic. Already looking for the next volume.

I enjoyed this comic a lot, I liked the depth given to the gay cartoon icon, though I did struggle at first with the realistic art style. My only disappointment was discovering in the endnotes that the historical information wasn‘t as accurate as I had thought - people/places/events had been moved in time or playing a different role for a better story. I can see why they did it and it didn‘t detract from my enjoyment. Exitus sacrna sinistram.

Recommended by author Elizabeth Wein during a book talk she gave at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. It's favourite of Neil Gaiman (who does the introduction to my edition) and I can see why they both love it. The language is wonderful. Hugely enjoyable and clever fairytale.

Loving Saga series read three volumes in one sitting - it's brilliant. Really adult in content but it feels very much part of the story and not there just to shock or for the sake of it. Characters are excellent (the seal like creature above isn't typical just damn cute!) and the love of books that themes the third volume makes me happy.

Enjoyable read - certainly made me want to pick up volume 2. The characters are well rounded and varied. None of them felt like they were there to fill a diversity quota, they felt real and the conversations and dynamics genuine. The illustration style is also fab - Babs is super cute.

About half of the book is the conclusion to the female Thor - who is she story arc. The rest was 'extras' - including the 'Tales of Thunder: Annual 1' comic and a 1978 comic where they had a Thor is a woman storyline.
