I adored this book about a little unicorn born under the sea who loves his narwhal family but knows he is different. A great picture book about finding where you fit and being able to fit in in more than one place. #picturebook #narwhal #unicorns #adorbs #picturebooks #belonging #family #kidlit

Tell Me a Tattoo Story | Alison McGhee

A cute and simple story that would be great for sharing one-on-one, especially if someone in the family has some tattoo stories of their own to share. Plus the dad in this book needs to call me if it doesn't work out with his storybook wife. #picturebooks #storytime #hotdad

The Liszts | Kyo Maclear
post image
Pickpick

The Liszts by Kyo Maclear and beautifully illustrated by Julia Sarda is the story of a family of list makers. They make so many lists that they have trouble doing anything else, until a stranger comes and opens up their world. Maclear's words are perfectly matched with Sarda's art. This is a lovely book perfect for reading while snuggling with a friend on a cold fall evening. #kyomaclear #juliasarda #picturebook #liszts #readaloud

The Magic Word | Mac Barnett
post image
Pickpick

A young boy learns a magic word that grants him everything he wants (many, many cookies for starters), but soon learns it can get lonely when you chase everyone away with walruses. A little wordy for preschool story time, but perfect for a class visit read. #picturebook #storytime #macbarnett #funny

I really love all the quirky characters in this book. I can't wait to read more in this series to revisit them. The author has done some great world/place building in this book. Definitely a fun read. #romance #funny #pennyreid #winstonbrothers

EloisaJames I agree! I especially liked the way the heroine evolved and got a backbone! 7y

A cute book about a little witch trying to save the annual witches parade from the rain. Kids will love the silly consequences of her spells, and enjoy looking at all the fun little details on each page. This book will be a popular read well beyond the Halloween season. #kidlit #picturebooks #halloween #witches #sillyrhymes #GiveaScaryBook

I really enjoyed the new Sarah MacLean book, A Scot in the Dark. The heroine was resourceful, the hero had interesting confidence issues, and we got to revisit some favourite characters from her previous books. I especially enjoyed the descriptions of the dog house. #historicalromance #mustlovedogs #couldntputitdown

Got to read this book as a digital ARC from NetGalley, it was a really solid mystery. The plot kept me up reading super late with its twists and turns, and the characters were believable teenagers dealing with the issues in the book. #ya #mystery

It's All Your Fault is a hilarious skewering of Hollywood, religion, family relationships and YA tropes. There are too many hilarious one liners and comebacks in this book to count. Warning, it will make you laugh out loud, read in public at your own risk!
