Elul- and I find Duties of the heart... Incredible. Random pickings from the shelves on Saturdays sometimes leads to the opening of doors of which I can find no words or blurb photos to express their magic and heart wrenching truths. B'H !!!!
Language learning with Fantasy Fiction...Nederlands style... life is loaded with joy, brimming with excitement, and much is stashed inside the sleeves and pages of our books.
A bit predictable. It is similar to Donna Tartts', The Secret History as is said on the cover... adolescents studying unused languages, in this book, Latin. Experimenting with ideas from the past for, as the antagonist in the book suggests, a sense of control. I wouldn't suggest it to a friend, only because the content didn't impart anything that felt valuable enough to take with me.
I'll never forget what I learned of love reading this book. This was a great gift given to me by my father.
My father gave me this book during my formative years... and later, suggested I gift it to a friend who was struggling. A smile bursts forth just thinking of how wonderful my father is, and of the guidance he laid in my path.

Baruch HaShem for giving us all of it!
