Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix | J.K. Rowling
The most eagerly anticipated book in history becomes the biggest paperback release of 2004! The book that took the world by storm.... In his fifth year at Hogwart's, Harry faces challenges at every turn, from the dark threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be- Named and the unreliability of the government of the magical world to the rise of Ron Weasley as the keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Along the way he learns about the strength of his friends, the fierceness of his enemies, and the meaning of sacrifice.

Tonight, I‘m sharing my reading progress. I finally got back to reading this book again. I had 21 hours left in the audiobook before and now, I have 18 hours left. I‘m making progress but I feel like I‘m making slow progress because I haven‘t been reading this book every night but also, this is a long book. This audiobook is 24 hours long so it might take awhile for me to finish it.

Tonight, I‘m sharing my reading progress for a book I‘m currently reading. I listened to this book tonight while playing Candy Crush on my phone so I made a lot of progress in this book and I made it up to level 860 in my game. It‘s been a long time since I played this game but I‘ve started playing again.

I started this book after finishing the 4th book but I forgot to post my reading progress for this book. I haven‘t listened to any more of it since then. I didn‘t read any of it on Thanksgiving or Black Friday. I‘m not going to read any of it tonight either but I‘m hoping to get back to reading more of this book soon. I really enjoyed what I‘ve listened to so far. I want to know what happens next in the book.

I'm traveling and for the past few days I've been in Seattle. It's been such a long time since I experienced cold weather in the fall. I'm loving it and exploring the city on for had given me time to finally finish the 5th book in the Harry Potter series. I kid you not, I've been listening to this for over a year.

The first half was a no go because of the whinging Teen Harry spouts. The second half was more enjoyable but not the escapist fun it would have been if I wasn‘t comparing Umbridge to M Taylor Green.

The fifth installment of the Harry Potter series is a personal favorite. We learn more about why Harry and Lord Voldemort are strongly connected and get a firmer grasp on the realities of a world where the dark lord has returned.

This book is amazing! I definitely would not read this in a classroom, but would have it in the classroom and have it be given as a choice for high level readers (with parents permission)

This book is probably my favorite of the series. I know a lot of people find it annoying how whiney Harry is in this book, and the end is a bit depressing. But I think this one has some peak Sassy Harry moments. Plus Harry and the others are finally far enough into their magical studies that their abilities can really start to be showcased. There is quite a lot that hits you right in the justice feels, but also a lot of very satisfying comeuppance

First and foremost, I'm THRILLED to be spending my evening revisiting this wonderful story with this lovely new book. (And, pleeease, book gods, don't let anything stand in the way of the last two illustrated books 🙏) But, and maybe I'm nitpicking, do the illustrations seem a little less magical this time??

I had originally planned a much more #bookish tattoo for my birthday. Plans had to change when my artist cancelled 24hrs before my appointment. While it wasn‘t my original plan at all The Order of the Phoenix was a great book and I‘m absolutely in love with this abstract beauty now perched on my arm forever.

Pain and Suffering. I forgot just how much Harry Goes Through It in this one. And Umbridge! Less evil than Voldemort, sure, but SO awful nonetheless. Possibly because she's so realistically terrible. #reread #childrenslit

nanuska_153 @ErinSueMreads oh interesting! I might give it a go next year. I'm giving HP a rest this year cause every year I seem to either read or listen to it 4mo
GinaKButler @nanuska_153 So, fantasy is not my genre. I trudged through the first 3 books years ago and quit. My goal this year is to listen to the series and I looked back and have only listened to Jim Dale…good news is that I‘m really enjoying them! 4mo

Continuing my Harry Potter reading challenge that I started for myself. First time reading the series, only have watched some of the movies. So far this book is similar to the movie 🎥 and I like it. Love the narrator of the audiobook.

I mentioned in my reviews of the previous 4 books in the series, I am rereading these after some time. This one was pretty good. I had forgotten so much of the content of this book. It felt like a surprise again which was a treat. I read It fairly quickly too which was not the case the first time around. I enjoyed the series of course and look forward to now reading book 6.

I didn‘t think this was the worst, but also not the best. My friend (who‘s also an English teacher) reminded me that Rowling was writing for her maturing audience and adjusted her content and approach with each book. I‘m trying to be patient, but this one was just okay.

Finished this up a few days ago as my fiance and I continue our re'read. Umbridge is such a "good" villain, disguising her evil and prejudices under a cloak of pink and kittens-- with a voice that makes you want to stab yourself in the eye with a quill, a most dangerous type and not unrealistic! The most disappointing part of this book was and still is the fated prophecy at the end. Luna shows up finally yay!

Susanita I saw a YouTube video that included a young Imelda Stanton, and I hardly recognized her. 9mo

I am really impressed by how much reading the books has made me appreciate the movies! I think this book really gave a lot more insight into Sirius/James/Snape backstory and Dumbledore‘s struggle with caring for Harry. I wish the movies showed all of that more, especially putting Dobby in the movies! Sirius‘ death broke my heart and reading Harry‘s thoughts was hard. I can‘t believe I‘m almost done with the series… on to the next!
