Somewhere in between 3.5 and 4 stars. This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and, after someone compared it to Wintersong and ACOTAR, I was worried I would not like it. Alas, I actually ended up liking it a lot.

It got a little weak in the middle, particularly certain parts and descriptions, but, overall, it was an enjoyable read and it got me out of the reading slump I'd been stuck in for months. So yay!

After finishing (and absolutely adoring) Eliza and Her Monsters, I wasn't sure what to read next, so I picked up this book and read the first page, and immediately decided this was to be my next read, because I really liked the style.

July's #BookHaul! (Minus a couple that I forgot to include.) I swear, my TBR pile (it's not even a list anymore) keeps getting bigger and bigger. The only book featured in this photo that I actually finished in July was A Darker Shade of Magic, which was really good, by the way.

I hope I can read more this month.

This was a fast (like 2-3 hours) and super enjoyable read! It was refreshing, funny, quirky and different, and still, it felt like reading an old fairy tale.

If you have never read this book, I would definitely recommend it.

I started reading this book like 20 minutes ago and I HATE that I have to get back to work because I don't want to stop reading it! 😫

I feel like it's one of those books I could read in one sitting.

I am in awe with this graphic novel. The art, my goddess, the art is amazing! But how could it not when it comes from the same team who created that perfect graphic novel based on The Last Unicorn? Renae de Liz and Ray Dillon are incredible artists.

The story wasn't perfect but I really liked Renae's take on Wonder Woman, especially her true origin. That part moved me to tears.

This is the other Tolkien book I have on my TBR list at the moment. I am not sure when I am going to be able to get to it, since there are a gazillion other books in that list as well.

(The fact that I keep adding books to the list has nothing to do with it, of course.)

See the cover of this book? It's cute and adorable and bright, and every time I looked at it, it made me smile. Well, the novel is exactly like that. This is the last book I've added to my read list and when I finished reading it, I had a goofy smile on my face and a warm, fuzzy feeling inside my chest.

So if you're looking for a culturally diverse, funny, nerdy and happy contemporary book, look no further and give it a chance.
