The commemorative edition of this book is just beautiful. I look forward to digging into the depth of riches I know will be inside.
I happened to stumble upon the audio version of this book through my library‘s #RBdigital access and the narration by Elizabeth Jasicki is stellar. It would be a great addition to have alongside the picture book. Charming and funny!
I love this series. Now that Rocket has learned to read, he wants to write stories of his own. But he, like all writers, must face the dreaded blank page first. 😉
What‘s not to like about this charming book ... an adorable dog, a bird who teaches reading, and the wonder of letters turning into words, and words turning into stories. 💕📚
My mom found this unusual book for me at Goodwill. :) The illustrations are just lovely and it‘s a sweet story of a sheep looking for a place where he belongs.
“To the PandaPolitan Club! “ Another wonderful book by Sally Lloyd-Jones with beautiful illustrations by David Litchfield.
I love that wonderful feeling when you stumble upon a new author, find you love the characters and story, and realize that this is the first book in a series and they have a ton of books for you to devour. 🙌🏻💕Evidently Charles Todd is the pen name for a mother & son writing duo. I‘m listening to the audiobook on Libby, and the narrator is excellent as well. Highly recommend!
While I did guess about mid way in who was responsible, that didn‘t lessen my enjoyment of this book. Well plotted, well written, and the audio book narration was excellent. I look forward to reading all of Ruth Ware‘s books.
I‘m loving this series by M.C. Beaton. Sweet and funny with great characters. The audio books are narrated by Davina Porter, one of my favorite narrators (she did the Outlander audio books as well). So entertaining!
Thanks to #hurricaneirma I've pulled out the book-light, as our power went off almost 15 hours ago, at 4:10 am. 😳And that was after a 3:45am tornado warning wake up call. Just finished this lovely story newly reprinted by Rabbit Room Press.
“Where there is love, there is courage
Where there is courage, there is peace
Where there is peace, there is God
And when you have God, you have everything.”
― Louise Penny, A Fatal Grace
I have fallen in love with this series. The audio books are fantastic!
I listened to the audio book and the narration was excellent. I enjoyed the story and the characters, and would definitely recommend it. Especially if you have an appreciation for art and art history. However, for me, there are some books I read that I can't wait to get back to, and this wasn't one of them. I think because, while I did empathize with the characters, I didn't really get drawn into their world. Overall, however, well done.
I bailed on this. I was listening to the audio book, which was well done, but I couldn't get into it. I made it through about half. I kept thinking I'd rather be listening to my next Mitford book, ;) so I think the timing wasn't right. Maybe I'll revisit it another time.
I'm using a Logos Bible Software reading plan to read through the Preaching the Word Commentary on Jeremiah & Lamentations. Somehow my heart seems to be tuned keeping focused on the hope of God in sorrow & lament this year, and the PTW commentaries are great to read through devotionally.
One of my favorite devotionals, but it's been a few years since I've used it so I'm reading through it again this year. :) #streamsinthedesert #devotional
Such a wonderful story and beautifully illustrated. Thank you #readaloudrevival for the recommendation.
I read the first few #Mitford books years ago when they first came out, and loved them then. I got nostalgic and wanted to finish the series. Since I couldn't remember where I left off in the series, I decided to start over again, listening to the audiobooks this time. :) They are narrated by John McDonough, and so well done. Words can't express how I love these books! #audible #audiobooks #JanKaron

Excited to get this in the mail! First book in the #Renovare 2016/2017 #Bookclub beginning October 17. If you're interested in learning more, here's the link: https://renovare.org/bookclub
Such a great book! Listened to the audio version, and it was well done. Loved the library, the book references, and the team work of the kids. It also does well to show that technology, books, and personal interaction aren't mutually exclusive. Can you guess the answer? Hint: it's 4 letters :)

“Yo, Kyle,” said Miguel. “Exactly how many board games have you played?” “ Enough to know that you don't ever quit until somebody else actually wins."

"There are worse things in life than bombs." And Ada, the 10 year old heroine of this book, has experienced them. I listened to the audio book and it was so well read. This one snuck up on me slowly, but Ada, Jaime and Susan felt like family by the time I finished. Highly recommend.
"But the leaves, turned crisp, shards themselves, offered nothing. His sons were dead at a nearby hospital and he had come too late." #bookofthemonthclub
