Holy!!!! The research that went into this series… oh my word!! I absolutely loved the first book. I will be reading the others. The tv series is so good too if you haven‘t watched it. If you love the paranormal you absolutely have to pick this series up, then go watch the tv show!!! You can‘t tell, but my is annotated fairly heavily. There‘s so much stuff that happens that I had to mark!

So I kinda get the name of the book, but I don‘t. It floats between post ww2 1951 and present 2018. The setting is a fictional town somewhere in the UK. Edie can‘t remember what happened to her best friend, and she thinks people will take her more seriously if she can remember. she‘s got dementia. I enjoyed this read. I wouldn‘t call it uplifting though. It‘s more bittersweet but still a good read. If you enjoy mysteries then this is a good one 4U

It was and ok book like I think it would have a fantastic storyline if done right… it was bogged down with heavy scientific information though and read more like a text book that mmmm anything. I almost put it down but I did finish and I wouldn‘t pick it up again. I‘d just go watch the movie instead

It took me a bit to get into this book, but it was such a good read. I will happily pick up the next few in the series. I wasn‘t expecting the ending to be like it was and I‘m not too fond of said ending, but the book was a really good read. If you like thrillers/murder mysteries that are lgbtq then this is a good read for you to pick up.

I had some issues with the book. Mainly the fact that the ending left me with so many more questions than I started with. I don‘t even know what to say about it here. The ending fell flat to me, like how hard would it be to write another chapter or even a few paragraphs for an epilogue so we know what‘s what. The author also had a wonderful chance to de-stigmatize mental health issues and she ent the complete opposite direction.

I inherently hate fuckjng politics and that was literally what this book was full of. Was it a good book? Well yes, would I have picked it up on my own? No probably not. I didn‘t know it existed until it came in my once upon a book club box…. Also that ending to the book was a waste of space in my opinion like what?!! Idk if I‘ll ever pick up another one of Nigar Alams books but it was ok. If you don‘t like heavy politics then don‘t pick it up

The fuck?! That twist ending like what?! I can‘t even get my thoughts together on this one. It was a five star read for me but holy crap, I can‘t even think of any way to describe this or the characters except there‘s a psychopath and a regular high-school girl and well yeah… I have no words for this book. It was fantastic though and I‘ll definitely read more of Cyn‘s books!!

How are you gonna write all this fucked up shit and go and write a lame ending?!! Like come on dude…. Other than the ending I didn‘t have any issues with the book. The pictures spaced throughout the book were awesome though. And even though one of the characters got what was coming to them, I felt like he slacked off at the end. It‘s still a fantastic read though. I‘d rate it 3 maybe 4 stars

The book started out really weird. The writing is also not really my go to style, but once I got into the book around the 2nd or 3rd chapter I actually started to like it. I find it hard to believe it all took place in one weekend though, but I‘d read it again. I‘d rate the book around 3.5-4 stars. It‘s a good YA read if you like murder mysteries

Loved the 80s nostalgia. I honestly wish there was more. I was also expecting it to be more gorey. I was expecting it to be more of a splatterpunk book but for what it was, it was actually really good.

Addison_Reads This was one of my favorites of what I've read in this series. 1y
SlytherinBookLady @Addison_Reads i did really like it. I haven‘t read any of the others in the series yet though so I guess I‘ll pick those up next 1y

It took me a minute to get into this one. I really wasn‘t expecting that ending though. The books itself was a good read but kinda weird to me. It kept jumping from the case to how everything got started. If you‘re looking for a book to mess with your mind, this one will do it

Honestly i thought it would have been better than it was. I rated it 2.5-3 stars. The book was a busy one, I did read it in just one afternoon(a few hours) but I expected it to be more camp life of a prisoner than what it was. It did jump back and forth inbetween the now and the then but I think the author could have done a better job with writing it. I will read the next two but I feel like there are better books about the Holocaust out there.

Such a good book!!! I was not expecting the ending of the book. It set up for something much different in my opinion. I didn‘t realize this was book 2 in a series until I finished reading it so I guess now I‘ll happily go back and find book one to read it. I‘m sure it‘s just as good as this one

I‘ll give the author this much, she can weave a good story. However there are times that I thought this book dragged on. Don‘t get me wrong, I enjoyed it. I thought it was a fantastic read and on the plus side the author didn‘t name drop herself in this one. There were times I was a little confused about things in here, but it was a good read.

5 friends go camping in the woods. One of those friends goes missing. Each of the four remaining friends has a different story for the cops. What happened to the missing girl. I loved how the story was set up. I‘ve never read anything like it before and it was so neat. I was on the edge of my seat constantly. If you love mysteries you‘ll love this book.

It was a cute read, but it was more of a learning about herself story then a romance. The main character learned things about herself throughout the story and although there was a little romance it wasn‘t much, so if you‘re looking for a cute romance story this one isn‘t it. It was still a good read though

Bookish_Gal I agree with how it was more self growth. I liked how while, yes it is classified as romance, that the central main plot was on self growth. 1y
SlytherinBookLady @Bookish_Gal yes I think they should have had more romance if they wanted to classify it as that, it was what I was expecting but yea I loved that it was more of a self growth book. It was what I expected but I was also pleasantly surprised with how it turned out 1y
Bookish_Gal @SlytherinBookLady I liked it better with less romance. But yea, the way they labeled it should‘ve had a good chunk more 1y

The fuck is wrong with the author ending a book like that?!! Like that was just a cop out. Excusing the lazy ending the book was actually really good, up til that last sentence. I actually flipped the pages to see if that was it. Somebody needs to let the author know she needs to rewrite that ending, or at the least write a continuation so we know what happened!!

CMCurtis77 I thought the same thing!! Great book.. horrible ending!! 1y

This book just like Exodus DOES NOT EXIST FOR ME!! I‘ve heard people say this one was supposed to heal your heart blah blah blah.... no all it did was carve out a deeper hole in my chest where my heart used to be. I doubt I‘ll be picking up another Kate Stewart book ever again if this is the way she writes everything. I‘m still not over what happens in Exodus and probably won‘t ever be. I still randomly burst into tears.

First of all I loved this book and can‘t wait to see where the author takes the series. I can‘t wait for books two and three. Secondly and it‘s s main reason I give the book a four star rating is the author name drops herself at the least three different times and I‘m my opinion that‘s totally gauche and cringey. The book did however remind me of the movie the poison ivy 4 the secret society. I‘m hoping that with the second one it fixes things.

This book was different then I was thinking it would be. It took me a couple chapters or so to really get into reading it, but once it got interesting to me I couldn‘t put the book down. It was creepy, weird, cool and I absolutely loved it. The were a few times I was extremely shocked at the language the character used, but I can see why it was used. It was extremely creative. The story sounded promising from the synopsis, but it fell flat. I couldn‘t understand half of what I read. I think the bones of the story are there it was just written in a really strange way. The author jumped around from one thing to another and then the ending was just really really anticlimactic. Parts of the book were really fantastic, but other parts were just blah. All in all I guess it just wasn‘t the type of story I could enjoy

The synopsis of this book sounded absolutely amazing, and then I get into the book. It would have been a wonderful story except for the fact that the story was lost in politics right from the beginning. There‘s also a host of trigger warnings that should have been applied to the book, but weren‘t. Trigger warnings include but are not limited too racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, child abuse, terrorism/hate crimes. I had to DNF this book
