A well rounded survey of the gang in their forrays, their ramblings, their symbols, their coverage, and their blunders too. But I just felt like this was too long. I didn't want to read a 300 page magazine article that doesn't have a cohesive story.

Bailedbailed

Thank goodness, it was a short story. The content is apparently written in modernist mode, the story is without a structure, and with many shifts in the narrative.

The book mainly narrates the issues for women in the 20th Century. Not my kind of a book!

"There were all her feelings for him, sharp and defined, one as true as the other. And there was the other, this hatred, just as real as the rest. She could have done her feelings up in little packets and given them to Stanley. She longed to hand him that last one, for a surprise. She could see his eyes as he opened that..."

Katherine's depiction of hatred!

Pickpick

The book deals with the problems of an young sheepfarmer in Australia. The novel shows Harry Heathcote thwarting the envious ex-convict neighbors who harbor his disgruntled former employees and who attempt to set fire to his pastures.

The book is only 109 pages long but it is a powerful story. Personally, I found it to be a fun, quick read and particularly enjoyed the development of Heathcote and Medlicot's relationship.

Alfonzo215 I've read Edgar Rice Burroughs but never this book. I've read his "Tarzan" books. I live in USA. Can you recommend a good book from India? I just finished reading "Sycamore Row" by John Grisham. He's an attorney/author that writes legal fiction. I think his best novel was his first book "A Time to Kill". Hollywood made a movie from the book. (edited) 7mo
Suchethaaahh I have read Tarzan books as well, good time pass. I like the imagination of Mr.Rice. Plenty creativity in the one posted as well. 7mo
Suchethaaahh Would recommend "White Tiger" from Aravind Adiga, please share your thoughts on how you liked the book if you get a chance to read it. 7mo
Alfonzo215 Great! Thank you for the recommendation. I will definitely post an opinion if I read it. 7mo
Tkgbjenn1 Grew up reading his Tarzan novels. 1mo

Anybody else listen to Librivox recordings?

I don't normally enjoy listening to a book, but the busy schedules had forced me into it - not that bad after a long day.

“I'll always choose you." Yes that was the word. "Every single lifetime, I'll choose you. Just as you have always chosen me. Forever.”

Her works and Dark Romance is something I enjoy. Nevertheless, her last two works were boring and every move could have been anticipated.

Any fans of Lauren Kate?

Two Words - Good Entertainer!

So here I was, having couple of long days at work and wanting to take my mind off things - Sophie rescued me. Although I felt that ending was quick, it was a good read.

Hate Jemima. Absolute Hate.
Love Lissy. Amazing Lissy.

Would recommend the book for a quick read, simple yet subtle - enjoyed hundred percent.

P.S. - Book is more special since it was a gift from my boyfriend 😍

When will I get bored of this?

From past few years, whenever I am bored and yearn for a short read, I end up picking this masterpiece. Turning the same pages again and again, reading through the lines, I enjoy as if it was the first time.

The spiritual knowledge and life lessons causes stir in the air.

Suggestion for Paulo's fans - The Devil and Miss Prym
I enjoy this fiction equally.
