Ivan Turgenev to me is a novelist poet. The eloquence of his prose is breathtaking.

Please do pick up this book which is written not only with intelligence but also with grace. I'm a Sarah Perry fan for life!
My first read for the month of July. Has anyone read this book yet?
This just arrived this evening. Has anyone read it?
"...The time has been
That, when the brains were out, the man would die,
And there an end. But now they rise again."
Macbeth, William Shakespeare.
The monsoon creates the kind of atmosphere which lends itself so smoothly to the reading of ghost stories.
This book was a delightful read laced with typical British humour and pearls of wisdom doled out in a subtle manner. The day-to-day struggles of people living in a village in Devonshire are chronicled in a balanced manner. The reader is given a glimpse of the privations suffered by the British people during the Second World War. This is a book that needs to be cherished and enjoyed. After reading it, I felt such a warm feeling bubble up within me.
This book was a gift from my thoughtful brother who returned from London today. I was touched and his gesture made my day. He picked it up from The Hatchards Bookstore located in Piccadilly Circus.
His Bloody Project is a suave piece of work. Highly original, the plot keeps you hooked till the end. The highlight for me was the various theories put forward as to why the murderer committed these 'heinous' crimes. Graeme Macrae Burnet wants the reader to reach his/her conclusion. After I read it, I pondered over a theory which, to me, seemed the most plausible. I was also impressed with the book's historical feel. Transported me back to 1869.
This book is part of my #junebookhaul and I'm eager to read it. Has anyone read it? If yes, what are your thoughts?
If there is a book that will hit you hard, it is this one.
Beautifully executed and powerfully character driven, this book contains passages that will shake you up and give you goosebumps all over.
This books deals with existential loneliness, racism, slavery, poverty, communism and world politics.
Finally it throws light on the fact that's when there is an absence of love, the world is very likely to go awry.
Highly recommend!
