Digital ARC courtesy Netgalley and the publishers.

An engaging and informative book, it explains the role of dopamine in our behaviour. It gives a fantastic look on this molecule.

I am halfway through the book and already have learned so much. And I find myself stopping again and again to read aloud to my family and friends.

Insightsintobooks I liked this book as well. It was interesting. 6y

16th century India. Rajput kingdom of Mewar.
The story is narrated by Bhoj Raj, the Maharaja Kumar or heir apparent of Rana Sangha, and a man best known for being the poet saint Meerabai's husband.

How does a man fight an immortal God for his wife's affections?

The writer has tried to explore the complicated life of a prince whose wife is committed to a God, while giving us a fair glimpse of life of royal families, & a good deal of history.

A little bit of magic, good people, bad people, gypsies, little songs in French, an imaginary friend, love, loss, mystery and more chocolate drink than I could have imagined; this is a fascinating book.
The story alternates between the first person narratives of Vianne and Père Reynaud.

An aspect I really loved about this book was that the minor characters and the sub-plots were as 3-dimensional as the major ones

CoffeeNBooks I loved this movie, but never read the book- I probably should! 6y

Mehso-so

I found this book to be a compelling read, funny in places, deadly serious and dark in other places, but always, always buoyed by Eleanor‘s determination and resilience. It was rewarding to watch her friendship with Raymond grow, and his support of her is inspiring.

The introduction of post traumatic stress seemed unnecessary to me. Can‘t a person be quirky and socially awkward yet endearing without the added baggage of a horrific childhood?

Book_Fairy_Mary Agreed! My friends loved this book, but it wasn't my favorite. 6y

A charming, funny, sweet and heart-warming book that, at it's core is about the love of reading and the magic contained within books. Needless to say, this book is bound to strike a chord with every book lover.

The epistolary format is refreshing with the story being told through letters, telegrams and journal entries. The story is set in 1946 Guernsey island, recovering from German occupation.

I highly highly highly recommend this book!
