Getting ready for the next bookclub.
To give the short version, I've learnt that every human being, with or without disabilities, needs to strive to do their best, and by striving for happiness you will arrive at happiness. For us, you see, having autism is normal -- so we can't know for sure what your 'normal' is even like. But so long as we can learn to love ourselves, I'm not sure how much it matters whether we're normal or austitic.
So I started my first #bookclub with this book and thank God we all loved it. And I loved this book because all the characters felt real. They all this freshness and originality in them that you don't see in the typical ya novel.
And I must accept there is a subtle strength that expels from the narrative and it‘s haunting, while the boys try harder to understand the girls, I found myself doing the same. I wanted to know everything about them, trying to put all the pieces to the puzzle. But we are left with a few pieces short and by the end of the novel I surprisingly felted empty.
I'm so happy that the books I ordered for my birthday have arrived!
🌞 this might be one of the most profound graphic novels I've ever read. 🌞
If you like Relish by Lucy Knisley, then this little magazine is for you. And even though she is not a chef, you get to see her passion for food and an awesome way to potrait recipies.
“I once read in my physics book that the universe begs to be observed, that energy travels and transfers when people pay attention. Maybe that's what love really boils down to--having someone who cares enough to pay attention so that you're encouraged to travel and transfer, to make your potential energy spark into kinetic energy.”
Bought a box of Lucky Charms because it had this mini dc comic inside.
If you want to travel to a marvelous place that is as big as a mad person imagination, then this is your book.
This was one of the funniest book I have read. And Just in case, I'm not a shopaholic, I just like collecting clothing tags.
And I don‘t know, I have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand the story was a little crazy with truly weird characters, with no deep message, and no romance. Which made it so freaking awesome.
But on the other hand, me being a comedy fan, really wish it was funnier.
The hunger games was the first trilogy I read and felt in loved with. So I was on a mission to go see every movie in the theaters, unfortunately I as you can see on the blank spot, I wasn't able to go to the movies to see the last one. #ripmokingjay2movieticket
You never would think that a monster could affect a child's life in a powerful way. Each chapter felt necessary and well built under the union of the everyday reality with the mystical fantasy, producing a strong tone of seriousness and at the same time excelling with the comic sarcasm. This book was a mixture of various abstract elements and putting them together formed an artwork called "A Monster Calls".
This book shows us a funny way with dealing with culture shock and with identity acceptance. I like how it turns something serious into something funny being relevant without being offensive. And the art is so cool, the scenery and the character were well structure. Not only do we have a great story but we also have bright amazing art.
This was a short, cute and simple book that didn‘t manage to make me feel anything. I don‘t understand what it was but once I finished it I felted that I needed more from it, but not in a good way, it was more that it lack of something. At times it made me laugh, mostly thanks to sporty Jane (which was my favorite by the way), but that was it.
Waiting at the hospital office laughing a little bit with this amazing book.
My brother got me this bookjigs bookmark for my monkey obsession. #broknowsbest #graphicnovel
Starting a #bulletjournal for the first time, to help me develop my creativity and to see if it helps me be more productive.
I love the treat and pleasure of eating when it becomes an act of focused giving and sharing...Wasting money and appetite on bad food is disappointing, but it doesn't matter when the company is good...[T]here's a lot to be said for eating as a social act. It's a treat, even when the food is bad.
