if you really believe fate works like that. as if it lives in the sky and spends its time placing us like pieces of chess. as if it is not the choices we make. who taught you that. tell me. who convinced you. you've been given a heart and a mind that isn't yours to use. that your actions do not define what will become of you. I want to scream and shout it's us you fool. we're the only ones that can bring us back together.

So far, this book is worth it just for those paragraphs that stick, the ones that you can chew on during the day until you're back to reading it again. Not every chapter is a winner, but it's easy enough to skim those chapters.

Overall, I'd give this book 3.5/5 stars. It was too long and at times slow, but past the halfway mark, it picks up a bit. The romance also wasn't my favorite (mostly because immortal/mortal relations always strike me as a little weird), but I really enjoyed Manon's arc in the book and I'd like to see what happens to her in future books.

Smoky sunrise from the Santa Clarita Fire, fits the mood while I continue reading QoS. The characters are a bit dramatic for my taste, but I'm enjoying Manon's chapters.

Currently killing it with my reading goals this year--audiobooks help a lot! Just finished Mindy's audiobook, and I have to say that while it was a good listen, I definitely liked her first book better.

I used to read and reread this when I was young. Reading it now is like a warm hug for my brain--it feels good to revisit such a unique little book 😋 highly recommend for the romance and empowering heroine ☀️🕌

Listening to the audiobook--not my favorite narrator, but so far the book is an entertaining, immersive experience--a well developed universe with interesting characters. It's perfect listening for busy work. Excited to see where it goes. 🚀💫

Not so much a good read as an interesting skim--chances are most of this information won't be new to the moderately health conscious, but the book has a positive message and its well designed. The Ayurvedic information is also interesting to read about 🌻

Almost done--so good! I'm going to savor this last bit on my commute home. TGIF indeed, this is the perfect way to kick off the weekend 🌟

Court intrigue set in a unique goblin/fae world, this was a well written book. Maia grows a lot as a character and it was easy to cheer him on as he took on the challenge of becoming emperor. That said, the names were a but confusing at times. Still a good read!

It's hard to describe what it's like listening to this book. It's funny, but I find myself wondering if it's ok to laugh about traveling to North Korea, considering the hardships of the people living there. In this way, I guess I find it funny yet disturbing at the same time.

I loved the movie, now I love the book even more--I can say without a doubt the book is better. I'm going to miss this book on my commute. I laughed, I cried, and I loved every minute of it! 🌟🌟🌟

A detailed look at H. H. Holmes' murders and the Chicago Wold Fair, which sparks the readers imagination, making it easy to envision the White City and the darkness it harbored. In particular, I was amazed at the invention of the Ferris Wheel--it was quite the marvelous invention! 🎟🎪🌟

My first foray into superhero comics, Ms. Marvel turned out to be the right choice. Funny, clever, and well written--on the whole, very entertaining! Read it all in one sitting 👏🏼🌟
