So excited to begin this
So excited to begin this
Just always having a lot of feelings about this series
Delicious, swoon worthy, and a great read all around!
So very good! I heard there‘s a sequel so that‘s exciting ❤️
Dark Shores? YES. Dark Skies? YASSSSSSS. Give me an unresolved slow burn romance to ruin my feelings any days I burn. I pine. I perish.
From the way it started, I didn‘t have a lot of hopes BUT OH BOY am I now excited for the sequel (which I got an ARC for. This was a roller coaster of Roman Empire meets Pirates of the Caribbean and I am here for it!!
Pardon my French but what the fuck was that ending. Ironically, god bless there is a sequel coming.
I feel like, even though this book came out this month, I‘ve been missing something great.
Keep on sassily calling Hunt “mom.” I‘m here for it BB
The heat of her soft skin still stained his palm.
Books like this one just aren‘t written anymore. We‘ve grown so accustomed to thick plots with lots of twists and turns that it‘s rare to find a book that just tells a story. It reads much like Lord of the Rings or Skyrim. No big gestures, no flowery language. Just an honest bard‘s tale being told for your interpretation. Two of my fave quotes: “Fortune favors brave women” and “It‘s no easy thing to meet your dreams head-on.”
I can‘t even leave this a review. Just. Read it, okay? You won‘t regret it. It‘s so lyrical. Makes sci fi tangible. Excellent read. 5/5.
I‘ve never read a more lyrical science fiction book in my entire life and that has contributed to me reading 100 pages of it way faster than I‘d like to admit. I really can‘t wait to see where this goes
It FINALLY came in and I am so so so excited to dive into this gem of a book this weekend. Just started a bookstagram with my bestie so follow us on Instagram: paperplanesandfairydust
NGL second read through (listen through??) I definitely picked up that Edward is 100% a melodramatic fool and hella a Romeo. How I missed this the first time was beyond me! But I think my childhood self felt it was VERY ROMANTIC.
Reading this ARC and a couple of quick things: I like that the love interest is pre-established going in; it might just be the ARC but some information feels like it‘s skipped over; the villain(s) are just a tad bit confusing right now but I‘m sure it‘ll be cleaned up a little later; I like the magic system and naming system. Pretty cool so far, though it‘s taking me longer than it should to read.
We‘re not gonna talk about how I guiltily binge read this entire book today. It was simultaneously just what I needed and also the trashiest but perfect rom com I‘ve ever read. Please for the love of Jaffa cakes give me 10 more.
Still never EVER gonna stop yelling about how much I love this book 😍 Happy book birthday!!
Reading this again via audiobook and severely judging the things my very young self thought were okay. For example, saying “I love you” after the meadow scene which, mind you, was only like 2 days after he started talking to her again. AND meeting the parents after 1.5 days. ANDDDD. Carlisle and Alice loving Bella after less than a week???? But I can‘t lie I‘m swooning again
I just had too many feelings about this book and had to let her know 😂😂
This was only worth it for the Fire Light story and the last report because I NEEDED RESOLUTION THAT I NEVER GOT IN WAR STORM. How you poor souls that kept up with the series went A WHOLE YEAR with no resolution is beyond me. I‘d be dead!!!!
Just, y‘all need to read this. If you like books and you like reading about books and it feels like books are your entire life then this is totally the book for you. I‘m too into my feels to say anymore, but just read it. I say it a little more eloquently on Goodreads so check it out: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3194003235
Onto this ARC and oh boy is it already appealing to my book lover soul one chapter in. The MC creates cupcakes that represent YA books in the same design as the book covers??? She also talks about posting and critiquing Goodreads reviews??? Could this be any more relevant to my own life?? You had me at....all of it.
People said that was super hostage-y and I really don‘t think it was. I felt that the school‘s culture and the insane preparation by Marisa made it a unique experience. The narrative style alone makes this a great read.
It‘s been almost 10 years since I‘ve last read this and it still hasn‘t been long enough for me to forget 😂 Listening to the audiobook on my way to work and I keep being surprised (when I honestly shouldn‘t be) at how much I can quote and how much I giggle at everything. It‘s still hitting my feels so much even this many years later. Once a fangirl, always a fangirl.
What a fascinating narrative style! This book has no less than 15 narrating characters, but they feed seamlessly into each other and build on the person before them. While it‘s in third person, you hear so intimately each character‘s beliefs and thoughts. It leads to everyone feeling like their side is the correct side and it makes the readers job simple: decide for yourself who is in the right. Very enjoyable so far at 40%!
Already read this but now we‘re LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY and you bet your shadowy ass I‘m rereading it the minute I get the final version in my greedy little hands. Alessandra can woo the Shadow King ALL OVER AGAIN sexy seductress you!!!!
Okay to be honest though it was super realistic to how people would react with/post war. Can‘t deny that. (But my weak romantic heart just wants a lot more kissing and love and swooning that it didn‘t get but I‘ll get over it one day)
THE SINGLE GREATEST MOMENT IN THE ENTIRE SERIES. (I mean unless more great things happen after this and if they do no spoilers)
Yeah not crying my eyes at finishing the audiobook at 630 am this morning. Nope not a thing I‘m doing. The audiobook hits harder than my first time reading did. I haven‘t cried this much in a book since the end of Deathly Hallows.
Ummmm in a world where this exists and so does The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller, 10/10 I‘d pick Shadows. HOWEVER, this was definitely interesting and I yelled a lot more than I anticipated (sorry bestie for the 13 different voice memos of me shrieking). I‘m still yelling to the echoes of my house WHAT DOES IT MEAN to no avail. I don‘t think I‘ll ever fully understand but this was still a journey I‘m glad I took.
oMg I‘m dYiNg. It‘s really gonna end like that huh???? Really gotta do me like that???? UGHHHHHH
Fam, let‘s just talk about how I saw this fan art before I started reading this book and NOW I AM AT THIS PART and I literally cannot even.
NETGALLEY HAD THIS AND I AM CRYING BECAUSE NOW I HAVE IT. And this is super unprofessional but I LOVE JENN BENNETT BOOKS and as soon as I‘m done with what I‘m reading I‘m going to DEVOUR this.
This is more of a war novel than Unbroken is. Did not expect so much sheer fighting.
Holy brother drama. I HAVE SPOILED NOTHING FOR MYSELF SO THIS PLOT TWIST hit me in the feels gosh dang
I missed a lot of great YA when I started teaching, so let‘s dive into this highly recommended pick.
*language*
But god fuck finishing this on my way to work at 6 am in the morning just royally fucked my feelings today. God it‘s one thing to read it hurriedly but IT IS A WHOLE SEPARATE PAINFUL AND TEAR INDUCING THING TO LISTEN TO IT ALL HAPPEN SO TERRIBLY SLOW AND dramatically.
High lady of my heart more like it just fuck my feelings I have a whole day to suffer through
Very good, very dramatic. I had a feeling I knew where it was going and then COMPLETE LEFT FIELD. It‘s very much a Julie Murphy novel and, while it was short, was very enjoyable.
