Oh my goodness. What a magical, special little book. I dove into this one and was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it. I fell in love with all of the characters, especially Talia, Lucy and Arthur. (Not the DICOMY though, they can leave. 😤). Love how the story ended for Linus. Also adored that slow burn 🥰. 5/5 stars!

SW-T Nice review. This one is definitely a charmer. 🥰 3y

The Captives: A Novel | Debra Jo Immergut

DNF around page 180. I never really felt like I knew what was going on. The switching of time periods was also confusing. I found myself bored through most of it.

This book got a lot of poor reviews, but I honestly loved it. I couldn‘t put it down and read it in one evening. The plot was absurd yet disturbing. The plot twists actually got me. When they were all about to get on the plane and just started laughing… so creepy. I‘ve only read one other book by Peter Swanson, so maybe that‘s why 🤷🏼‍♀️

I wanted to love it so much, but I just liked it. I thought the story was cute. And it actually made me laugh a few times. I didn‘t really love/connect with any of the characters, but like I said, still a cute story!

Went to the grand opening of a bookstore today for #independentbookstoreday. Was a little overwhelmed by the crowds so I ended up with just these things.
Peter Pan is my favorite Disney character, so when I saw this candle it was a done deal. And yes, it has a little crocodile gem in it 🥺

Shout out to tiktok for introducing me to this gem. I think I got whiplash reading this one.. so many plot twists! I know a lot of people didn‘t like the end, but I personally loved it. I was totally caught off guard by that last page 😨.

Slammed (Slammed, #1) | Colleen Hoover

So sorry Colleen Hoover. I just did not love this one.
I just couldn‘t get past Layken‘s immaturity. She acted more like a 15 year old than an 18 year old. Also, her poor mom. Imagine giving your daughter that kind of news and she immediately runs to some guy‘s house to avoid you. I‘d be 💔 heartbroken.

This book taught me everything I need to know: that I am a big fan of slow burn stories 🥰🥵

I seriously read this book in two sittings because I could not put it down.

Confess: A Novel | Colleen Hoover

I‘ve been hearing great things about Colleen Hoover lately, so naturally I had to check out her books.

I wasn‘t sure about this one at first, because at the start it seemed like a “meet and fall in love in 2.5 days” kind of story, but it was so much more than that. This book tackled so many different types of important issues. Also, Owen is just an amazing, cutie pie of a guy. And it‘s a show, too!! Time to watch 😍

Okay. Maybe skip out on this one if you are sensitive to violence, blood, and gore..
This is basically The Hunger Games x10.

I really enjoyed how this book was written through interviews. I loved getting so many different perspectives and tellings of the story.

Still don‘t quite understand how all of this started to go down so rapidly. But it sure made for an unsettling, yet entertaining read!

This was my 4th read of 2021!! I loved it. I thought the characters were super well developed, and with that being said, there were a handful of them that I just could not stand. I thought I had a pretty good idea of how the book was going to turn out, but I was completely wrong. Great twist!!

No.. just no. I did not enjoy this one. Maybe if I were younger, but this was just a little too angsty for me. I should have started keeping track of how many times the word “cigarette” was mentioned. Had to be close to 100.

This was a short and quick read. It had a lot of twists that kept me interested. The only character I really liked was Xavier. The end made me feel kinda sad, but I guess it‘s to be expected when something that twisted and disturbing happens...

“Oh no baby, what is you doing!!”- me pretty much every chapter while reading this book.
Crazy story about a sugar daddy/sugar baby arrangement. The story starts out perfect and glamorous for Natalie, but things turn dark fast.

This was a great read! I couldn‘t really put it down, so I ended up finishing it in one day. I‘m pretty sure I experienced every emotion while reading this story. I absolutely loved Skye and Jesse‘s characters.
Honestly, this was a whirlwind of a story. I would have liked to read a bit more about Luka, though.
Overall, I recommend!

I kind of predicted how this story was going to end towards the beginning of the book, but there were still some little plot twists that threw me off. Such a sad, twisted, yet intriguing story.

I‘ll admit I‘m pretty late to the Stephen King game as this is only the 3rd book of his that I‘ve read, but I really enjoyed it! This was a super quick read and it was so hard to put down. It‘s hard for me to get freaked out by movies/books but this one definitely did it for me.. such a disturbing story😨

Mistermandolin @recuffley It‘s great. I prefer the shorter ones of his. What are you planning on reading next? The mid-80s weren‘t always his best period - avoid The Tommyknockers - but most everything else is well worth a go. 4y

This was a quick and easy read, though very shocking and disturbing. I‘m into true crime, but somehow have never heard of Israel Keyes. Now time for me to watch the actual interviews that were quoted in the book.

Pretty good! I found the book to be more about Che than his psychopathic sister, Rosa. I enjoyed the story even though the ending turned out to be a bit anticlimactic, in my opinion. The slow burn added a nice touch!

⭐️3.5/5⭐️ It was okay. Held my attention for most of the book but then I found myself just wanting to finish so I could move onto the next book. I easily guessed who the attacker was. I also thought it was weird how they kept emphasizing how much smaller Clare was than her 11 year old daughter... maybe that‘s just me 🤣

I thought this book was really good. It definitely captivated me from the beginning and held my interest. I loved reading from Christopher‘s POV, and I also loved his friends Matt, Mike, and Ed.
I‘ve never read anything quite like this before... the story was quite... out there, and for that reason I loved it.

Also slightly obsessed with the cover on this one ☺️🌲

Alright.
That‘s the word I‘ll use to describe this book. I moved real quick into this one because I was so excited about the last Paul Tremblay book that I read. But I feel I was kind of disappointed. In my opinion, there was too much unnecessary text in some of the chapters and I found myself rushing to get through them. Although I was intrigued to find out what happened at the end. Between head full of ghosts and cabin, this comes in 3rd for me

This was the second book I‘ve read by Paul Tremblay, and I have to say that I loved it. Finished it in two days since I couldn‘t put it down..
Very intense read, and also very graphic. Got a bit nervous towards the end but I think I‘m happy with the ending.
