I believe my very first DNF! I tried to like this book and give it a chance. But when a grown man, state-prison counselor is fawning over a woman he saw around high school - who is his client and doesn't remember him AT ALL - I'm out.
this might be my very first DNF but I'm stubbornly giving it till page 100 ish to change my mind. I thought that reading a novel about a counselor (as someone who aspires to be a counselor) would be fun, even if it's about doing the wrong thing with a client. but it turns out, it just pisses me off a lot! also, very slow-moving...this man is a child.
Got some pickups from the library ❣️ I decided that I should try and pair fast paced books with the nonfiction to help me work through both simultaneously. I'll see how it goes 😅 I think it's going to be tough for me to put down the quick reads and be more deliberate about getting through the nonfiction. Wish me luck! 😂
I found it really interesting that the paperback and the kindle version of this book have different covers. I'm used to seeing it in various editions. Too bad this wouldn't count for the changing cover in the middle of the series for #MiddleGradeMadeEasy lol. #BBRC @LibrarianRyan
panAnother dud. It sounds good, but the chemistry between characters is not there for the premise of the book.

pickI found the book enjoyable overall, despite my frustration with Frank through most of the second half. It's an interesting meditation on obsession, freedom, and choice.

bailedThis book was not for me. I didn‘t even want to finish it. I liked the writing style but the story was so drawn out. I couldn‘t tell where it was going and it took forever to get to the point. Maybe it‘s just me, but I just wasn‘t feeling it.
Was hoping for a more modern Alias Grace kinda vibe but 😕.
I went to B&N for the first time in a LONG time and I saw some books that sounded interesting. I wanted to share them and see if anyone has read these or heard of them.
