This one is a pan for me. The book was fast-paced. However, none of the characters were likable. I finished it as I wanted to know how it ended but was left feeling "meh."

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

This psychological thriller had an unexpected spin on it that kept me reading and needing to know more. There isn‘t a ton of motivation to explain the driving forces behind the plot, but if you take it at face value, it‘s an intriguing and entertaining book!
What happens when a one-night stand from your bachelorette party stalks you to your wedding and honeymoon?
Managed to finish this one while I was waiting at the emerge. An everyday common cold turned into an ear infection and a fever, so I had to get checked out before I was allowed to work my shift at the hospital tonight. Now I‘m off for a few days, and audiobooks are a no-go, so hopefully the headaches won‘t come back, and I‘ll be able to stick with physical reading. #rushathon #fourstar
Abigail goes on her honeymoon with Bruce, but something is off - the story was interesting enough that I wanted to know what was going on and why. Not a pick because the writing was off for me, in places it read as if two high school girls were talking about what it would be like to be rich and on an island. Finally, there wasn't enough background story for Bruce to make the ending not seem out of left field.

I think Peter Swanson is going to be another of my favorite authors. I sped through this one in one day. Excellent book! I thought I knew what was going to happen toward the end, but, wow, was I surprised! I did not see that coming. Great storyline, good pace; it was an overall good book.
“A bride‘s dream honeymoon becomes a nightmare when a man with whom she‘s had a regrettable one-night stand shows up in this electrifying psychological thriller from the acclaimed author of Eight Perfect Murders.”
First one that came to mind for

I liked it. The beginning was strong but the ending was a little weak, in my opinion. Not that it wasn't good it's just that I feel some of my questions weren't answered.
Just purchased this raved book that I meant to read and hopefully I‘ll manage to pick it up this weekend ☺️ even today? What were your thoughts if you gave have read it?

Stranded on an island with a bunch of men? My worst nightmare lol. This was a pretty good thriller, reminded me of Get Out.
Finished 8 books this month (still working on tagged). Two 5 star reads, so I‘d say that it was a good month!! #JanuaryReads
Enthusiastic pick! Super fun read about a woman who has a fling on her bachelorette weekend but the fling reappears before and after her wedding. Things go badly on the weird isolated honeymoon.
Bring me this author‘s backlist!
I read this book in the day. Kill all the dudes please. I hate them all. This book will bring out your rage…most likely. Maybe not. But it did mine.
Book 139🎧 3.5⭐️
I wish the end had a bit more razzle dazzle but over all very good👏🏻
What happens when a one night stand shows up on your honeymoon!?😱
Wow. This one pulled me in and I couldn‘t put it down. It just got more twisty the further I got. Totally unexpected for me. Enjoyed it with fairly likeable characters overall.
Mixed feelings with this one. Abigail had a one night stand with a stranger before her wedding. A man she thought would never see again. She married with Mr. Perfect who took her to an isolated unique luxury camp. Then, she sees the stranger man and things will happen. Does she know her husband? Well, I liked the beginning of the story and the mystery. But then the ending was unrealistic, expected? Yes, at least for me. 3⭐️
Peter Swanson always gets me. Well, this is only the second book of him I read and he's already become a new favourite author.
His writing sucks me right in – he writes so (seemingly) effortlessly, such great character descripions and thrilling, twisty plots.
In the beginning, Abigail felt a lot like me.
A suspenseful, thrilling ride of toxic masculinity leading to a honeymoon of hell.
Great thriller, really enjoying Peter Swansons work. I‘ve read/listened to a few now and it‘s always an adventurous exciting read. Parts were predictable, but I did not see the ‘escape‘ coming.
Late to the party, as always... 😅 #JoysofJune #Readathon @andrew65
It's likely I won't have that much time for reading the next week, but we shall see... My goal is to finish the tagged book, i. e. my current read. It's fab so far, but as I said: not much reading time atm. ... 📚
This was a fun thriller, I‘ve really enjoyed the Peter Swanson books I‘ve read so far. This was a mix of locked room (island) thriller and the impact toxic masculinity can have on a marriage. Scary fun that I couldn‘t put down.
I really didn‘t like any of the characters in this book, which made getting through the first half incredibly difficult. But things took a VERY interesting turn, and I was there for it. A little forgettable but very entertaining. #hoopla

This book was so fun and I loved it! I seen a lot of reviews that said, "It was so much fun.. but I guessed the twist.. or it won't be memorable.." And yes I guessed the twist, it was super obvious. But also I thought the author was really good at planting seeds of doubt in your mind. Yes it was super obvious. But it was FUN. I had a great time reading it, and isn't that the point of reading a book? 5/5 stars!

This one surprised me! I knew that island was suspicious, but I never imagined this!
I will say that this resort sounds really nice. But it's a no from me.

I listened to this on audio and I absolutely loved it! Abigail has a one night stand before she marries and immediately regrets it Bruce is rich and treats her so good! On their honeymoon she sees him there did he follow her there why is he even here! But then she notices why isn‘t there a lot of people here and why are there so much men! Her Honeymoon is about to turn into a nightmare! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I wasn't blown away by this book. But it wasn't horrible either.. just okay. I think my main problem with it is that the plot was great but the pacing was all wrong. Like others have said before me, good idea, poor execution. I'll round up to 3 stars.
Started it over this morning, I listened to it on audio once before and just didn't finish at that time. I happy that I revisited it because so far so good!
I‘m a bit surprised at the low-ish rating on Goodreads/Litsy. Yes, the plot was a bit ridiculous, but wow this was a page turner! I flew through this one! Despite her indiscretion you can really root for Abigail as she goes on her honeymoon on this remote island. I could tell things were off with Bruce from the beginning & was eager to see how it all panned out. The end was kind of sudden. I wanted more! I‘ll be reading more Peter Swanson!
A bride's bachelorette fling shows up at the island where she & her husband are honeymooning. An intriguing premise, a mysterious setting, a plot thickening into a Hitchcockian vibe - yet I almost put this one down several times. The text was repetitive, like he was trying to meet a minimum word count & read like a grocery list, detailing things that did nothing to move the plot forward. Parts were very creepy, but I was a bit disappointed. 3.5
⭐⭐⭐
I can kind of see where the author was trying to go...I just can't say the story effectively got there. A bit of a thriller, with a unique idea - lacking a little in execution.
I read this months ago and I can't tell you a single character name. What I can tell you is I hated this book. A man brings his new bride to a secluded island where only other men are staying. They decide it's a good idea to chase and hunt her on the island like twisted horror story adulterer hunger games. The attitudes of the male characters in this book were so bad I finished it just so I could say how much I hated it. I don't recommend it.
Another great read from Peter Swanson 👍🏻.... He is consistently good & easy to read. . I hope he keeps writing.
So this started off really good and then WTF? My first book by this author I didn't really enjoy. #doublespin for October @TheAromaofBooks #teamslaughter @Clwojick
136 of 2021. The idea of this story was interesting, but it ended up only being okay for me. It was a quick enough read, but didn‘t have the thrills or keep you in suspense that would have made it a better story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I usually love Peter Swanson's over-the-top psych thrillers but this one didn't quite work for me. I liked the concept in general but the suspense didn't build for me in the way his books usually do, and I found the twists less shocking. Not bad, though! A quick palate cleanser. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book got a lot of poor reviews, but I honestly loved it. I couldn‘t put it down and read it in one evening. The plot was absurd yet disturbing. The plot twists actually got me. When they were all about to get on the plane and just started laughing… so creepy. I‘ve only read one other book by Peter Swanson, so maybe that‘s why 🤷🏼♀️
Is this a “good” book? Mmm, no I wouldn‘t say it‘s particularly well written, doesn‘t have great characters, and the plot is ludicrous. But…but…I had fun reading it and pretty much devoured it in one fell swoop. Plus, it was odd and unexpected, which I like. Points for originality and readability. I was entertained, even if I did keep thinking I‘m not sure WHY I‘m entertained 😂 It‘s a story about infidelity/revenge/survivorship. #beachreading
Abagail is getting married but she had a one night fling on her bachelorette night and now that guy is tracking her down. So far, it‘s pretty good!
While it was compulsively readable, the premise was so far fetched and actions of the MC so ridiculous, I was pretty disappointed. Peter Swanson has always been an auto-read for me but these last two have left me frustrated. Here's hoping his next reignites the spark for me!
I actually hit my page goal for #AnyWayYouReadathon!! I haven't done that in a while so I was pretty stoked. The readathon really did inspire me to read a few times that I was thinking about doing something else, so I appreciate the boost!! The tagged book is what sent me over the top - it may have been a train wreck, but it was one I couldn't put down 😂 Total: 1246/1200pgs!!
@kimmypete1 @MidnightBookGirl @Eggbeater
I've said it before & I will say it again, Litsy needs a “WTF“ option for books that are batshit crazy but compulsively readable. I blew through this entire book in one evening because I did not want to put it down - despite the fact that no one was particularly likable, the plot was completely unbelievable, every twist just made the story more absurd, & the more I think about it the more questions I have... But I couldn't stop reading!! ⬇️
I like Swanson‘s book but this one was actually over the top creepy and not terribly believable. I read it quickly and am glad I finished but not a favorite of mine. I like revenge plots but this was not exactly that.
