About halfway through this #DoctorWho audio drama, my first outing with the 8th Doctor, and I never knew these were so well produced! This feels like it could be an episode of the show.

So excited to finally jumping into DC comics after reading Marvel for a decade. I'm so glad my library has a great graphic novel selection.

Want to talk about books with me on Imzy? Let me know!! They're in closed beta right now and I've got invites!

LisaMakeWords I've never heard of this platform. Is it for book people? 9y
selectivesnake @lisamakewords it's for everyone, but I created the book and comic book communities there. It's focused on healthy toxic-free communities. 9y
LisaMakeWords Oh, I see. I will definitely check it out. :) 9y

I'm really enjoying Brian Reed's run on Ms. Marvel. I'm five issues in, and I'm gonna binge read it all the way to #50. So glad to have Marvel Unlimited back in my life again!

Ubergeekygirl What is she even doing in that pose? 9y
selectivesnake @Ubergeekygirl haha it's definitely a dated cover (the comic is a decade old) you usually don't see stuff like that on covers these days 9y

This was fantastic. Halfway between a novella and a short story. It's the best Star Wars related thing I've ever read. It's about a girl and two guys who camp out for four days before The Force Awakens comes out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was good and barely doesn't get a thumbs up. I still recommend it if you liked the previous three books though. My my problem with it was it felt like almost all exposition. It gets better in Book 5 though.

Brittany13 I have to agree: definitely not the greatest out of the series and to me it seemed more like a filler, but it picks up in the next novel. 9y

Thought I'd post a shelfie of my X-Men graphic novels. And yes, almost every single one of them is X-Men related.

I've been obsessed with this series lately, so I had to go ahead and get all the paperbacks. 📚😁👍💯

Ubergeekygirl They look great on that shelf! 9y
selectivesnake @Ubergeekygirl Thanks! I ordered them online and got the UK versions (and the old covers for infernal devices). I was a little upset, but overall I'm just glad to own them. I know for sure these are reread material. Lol 9y

My favorite so far! I binged the whole audio book in less than 24 hours. I've heard this is the high point in the series, but I'm being optimistic and moving on to the next three books!

This series is my biggest guilty pleasure right now. Is the book equivalent of binge watching a so bad it's good TV show. Except it's honestly not that bad. It's cheesy yes, but with an interesting world and characters.

Fantastic miniseries and the start of a long run of X-Factor. A great read even if you don't normally read cape books. A mystery series set in the mutant world.

Great mystery, kept me guessing, and many "edge of my seat" moments. Loved Flora, but hated series protagonist DD. This book would have been much better off as something completely standalone.

Haul from Barnes and Noble this week. A Gathering of Shadows is up next!

djm001 I can tell you Night Film is an awesome read. I enjoyed that book immensely. If I remember correctly, the book has some codes you can scan with a smartphone app and it brings up various media that adds to the story. 9y

I haven't bought a brand new, new release book in a long time. Don't know the author and I just read the dust jacket and decided to buy it. Will probably start it on Monday after I catch up on school work.

If I ever have children, I would never let Miranda July around my children.

10/10 would listen to her weird, funny, awkward, sexual, and otherworldly ramblings again.

So-so rating. Some stories were a lot better than others though. Not for everyone

A quick poignant read. Fantastic illustrations. Dark yet funny in places (though the ending gets very dark). Grounded yet totally surreal. I wouldn't call this's must buy, but please pick it up from your library and try it out.

Starting this today. It's the shortest book from my library haul, but I really wanted to keep the momentum on my 2016 goals. I probably won't finish any of my other two books today, so this will have to do. PS, stop picking somber covers Thomas.

Library graphic novel haul. I'm in a GN mood so I'm embracing it. It will break up the monotony of reading the entire Shadowhunter series. Let me know what your favorite graphic novels are!

todd I'm looking forward to reading Wytches this weekend...I'm hoping it starts me on a GN kick of my own. 9y
selectivesnake I've heard a lot of good things about Wytches. I don't read DC, but apparently Snyder's Batman is the best in years. I'll need to check out both. 9y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would def read again, and I want to add to my shelf. Dealt with a lot of tough issues and made me look back in my relationships w/ family, religion, and depression. Thompson's wonderful illustrations go well with his spot on writing.

Good start to this series. The first few issues were a bit weak, but the last two issues really save it by building up the mystery. The pencils are serviceable, but the colors are a mess for the tone of the book. A big letdown on that front. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic graphic memoir. A look at childhood, family, relationships, lies, secrets, and forgiveness. The ending was a bit tragic, but hopeful as well. One of my new favorites.

Fun little read in one-sitting novella. Spooky, weird, and great if you like Flynn. I wish it was fleshed out a bit more, and the ending was a bit of a letdown. Overall though, good read.

This has a lot of potential, but Lemire got off to a slow start. It picks up speed with the next volume though. Really good starting point for new readers. Although I rated it so-so, I'd still recommend it to a new Marvel reader or X-Men fan.
